2025 Offers

Any chance Harwell doesn’t start right away? I think the only two guaranteed starters (assuming they return) are Sharp and Jojo. I’d love for TA to start if he stays. If Kellen said that Flemings was going to start, does that mean Uzan is a lock to declare?

Think if Mercy and Harwell can get a ton of minutes off the bench, then this would be a great lineup.

Flemings - Transfer
Sharp - Harwell - Kordel
TA - Mercy
Jojo - Transfer - Chase
Cenac - McFarland - Ced

+Bryce redshirting.

I don’t see Milo’s leaving at most he’ll probably test the draft waters

I think it’s far more likely we see Chase at the 3 rather than the 4.

I hope BYU plays in Houston in the 2025-26 season. There will be a lot of talent on that court.

At least a few first rounders on the court at once.

There is a higher probability Uzan returns and TA transfers or declares for the NBA. It was a close call getting him back this offseason

If he improves even more I think he will either be back or NBA bound.

Who would you rather have back next year? TA or Uzan? Easy choice for me.

@coogs1 Uzan

Cause hopefully TA turns pro

I will play along. I say Uzan because we will have, if nothing changes. Mercy, Sharp, Chase, Harwell, Jackson for our wing/guards. But PG is Kordell and Fleming which is really no experience. So I’d say Uzan. But it’s a coin flip

Answer has to be Uzan - him coming back might removes the depth issues we have had recently at Pg for next year!

It’s tough and I get all of your points (because PG is so important for college ball) but I have to respectfully disagree. I think I’d rather have TA. Flemings looks like such an immediate plug and play kid, that I don’t think we’d miss a beat.

Selfishly, I’d rather have TA back. Maybe I’m wrong?

Even if you think TA is better than Uzan—a fair and subjective opinion to have—here’s my take:

In my opinion, this roster was built with the assumption that TA would leave. We have Harwell, Chase, and Bryce, all of whom fill the same role as 6’6" wings. Then we have Mercy at 6’4", and with sharp back, will also be inn competition for the 3. Uzan is currently the only point guard on the roster, and while I love Flemming, he would only be a freshman. For further context, all of our transfers have made significant improvements in their second years with Uzan.

I think TA will be better than any of his potential replacements next year, even Harwell. However, we’re built to handle his loss—it wouldn’t be season-altering. On the other hand, losing Milos would drastically alter the season. We’d be left with only one point guard in the most vital role of our offense, likely a transfer who wouldn’t know our system.

Looking at the last full season, not a single 5-star point guard was both notable and impactful in winning games. ALL the 5-star point guards: Isaiah Collier, D.J. Wagner, Stephon Castle, Elliot Cadeau, and Aden Holloway. None of them had standout seasons in terms of both individual performance and leading their teams to wins.

@pesik the question who would i want back?

If Uzan or Arc had to leave? Arcenaux

Cause i want Arc apart of the UH family

Not to be Tramon Mark 2.0

Is Arcenaux sniffing NBA draft boards at all??

not on a single notable top 100 draft board for TA…but neither was grimes, dotson, jamal at this point in their final year
uzan is actually in most but outside the top 60

It’s earlier in the season. He might not be on any draft boards now, but if he keeps playing the way he’s been playing come March madness, I don’t see how he’s not on the draft boards.

Draft status is determined in conference and post season play. Not non-conference games between Jackson St., LA-Lafayette, and Troy. We also have players still recovering from injury. Let’s wait until March before we start talking about who will be drafted.

I am sure these players will request an NBA evaluation to see their chances in the draft.
