This is the same thing I was saying, in fewer words. If JoJo leaves, we should not just rely on Lath being a backup or an option. We need to go find a backup big to pair with Cenac and MacFarland.
Where can JoJo go? I love his motor on defense, but his shooting (if you want to call it shooting) is really bad. He throws the ball up hoping it hits the rim. That is not NBA or even Euro league worthy.
I hope he really works on his shots this coming offseason, like really hard. Love the hustle though.
every major NBA draft site has him getting drafted (espn, the athletic, tankathon, bleacher etc.)
Itās about projection of where his game will be in a few years when he is a full time pro. Right now JoJo reminds me of Kenneth Faried. His offensive is rough but if he has a shot at a first rd pick he should go.
Realisticly we need two rotation ready bigs to go with Lath, McFarland and Cenac.
Ideally those are Tugler and Peat.
But where in the draft? Early second? Late first?
Here is an aggregate of 10 mock drafts. They have Tugler at 58 of 59 picks. I would say he is currently on the borderline of being drafted or not. Of course itās still a long way from the draft and he has time to move up.
Harwell is so good man
Tuggler needs one more year. If athleticism was the most desirous trait, then Taze would have been drafted in the 1st round. Taze might be the most gifted athlete in the last 20 years.
Taze did not have a 7ā6ā wing span and cause havoc on defense the way JoJo can.
I have not seen Harwell enough to commentā¦.so my question is does he have all of his explosiveness back yet?
Tugler is also substantially younger than Taze which in todayās NBA is desirable for development.
This.
Taze is not in the same universe as Tugler. And I loved Taze.
If he keeps improving like he has recently he will certainly be drafted.
Hope this isnāt the case. TA is very talented on both ends. He is a bit passive on offense for some reason. He has NBA potential. It could just be his Achilles injury needs to be managed.
He looks like it. He was more hesitant on offense at the beginning, but over the last month or so heās been really aggressive. Scoring on all 3 levels. He defends and rebounds as well. Heās got lottery potential.
Thanks for the response @Kmoneyā¦.if he had not been out last year would you say he would have possibly been top 5-6?
Not that it ultimately matters.
Last year I was anxious to see if TA improved his shot, especially his three-point shooting. This year heās taken a huge leap and thatās why heāll likely be in the conversations come draft time.
Even if he raises his volume to 4 tries per game 35-36% is solid.
Canāt say. Too many politics in rankings. Fleming should be an McDonaldās All American. The lowest heās ranked on any site is 22. Yet he didnāt make the cut after having his best season production wise and team success. So idk where Harwell could be with no injury. I just know guys like him are extremely rare. We all know how high ceilings are for 5 stars, but we donāt talk a lot about how the floor can be the basement for some of these guys. We just assume they will be really good and ā1 and doneāsā but it doesnāt actually happen more times than not. Harwell however has a really high floor. I think he might be one of the safest bets in the class. He treats the game with respect, every possession, he plays really smart. Doesnāt take bad shots (he really wonāt shoot more than 12-14 times in a game). He is a willing defender that can guard 1-4 at the college level. With Sampson this kid has All Defense potential. His craftiness on offense is very underrated. Heās smooth, plays an old man game, can really hit the 3. If he develops that handle more he can be dangerous on offense. I think heās fallen into that category of āgood at everything but great at nothingā similar to TA. But Iād say Harwell is really good at everything but still not great at one thing. Not at his peak. Heās going to be a very fun project for Sampson. Canāt wait to see this kid in red!
