One more time, CKS will not start a true freshman at PG next year, no matter how you try to twist it.

I mean he did start Galen as a true freshman, so I don’t know if I’d say never ever. I realize the situation of where we were as a program then and now are different but I think there are situations where he could/would start a fresh at point.

Brennan had a strong following and even a band there - they shot themselves out in the 1st half

people doubted bellaire would’ve garnered that much support to fuel the energy

Bellaire was the hometown team, so a good crowd was expected.

Great stuff.

Very close to what I have seen here.

Usually when he drives and kicks Cowgirl is money from three….looks like the entire team shot poorly though.

Having to keep myself focused on this year because I’m excited to see what the freshman do next year.

Yes, agree that it was different phase on where the program is at currently . They’re just opinions any way but mine is based on several factors… past & future. No need to cover them all.

Im pretty sure me saying he was 1-10 during an important game and having scouts saying it needs improvement isnt saying the man is trash…

Scout have thst written down that have seen more than one game. Im pretty sure saying he needs improvement is not a bad thing. I could say that about sharp this last game.

Uh oh, pollard doesn’t want to hear that Jessie!

Pollard just protecting his Hometown kid. . And I sure hope I’m not wrong bc CKS is chasing the elusive ultimate prize ( maybe he’ll be chasing back/back ) n I dont think he can get there w True Freshman starting as his PG. Jmo n I’m sure not afraid to give one, unless its some wacko opinion than I get drilled.
Letting the drilling began. :joy:

edit: doesn’t matter anyway Uzan is coming back

He came unannounced. :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

He had a bad shooting game but that doesn’t make him a bad shooter. So he isn’t a great 3 point shooter…big deal.
None of this would have come had he had a typical game.
I’m glad Sampson knows great prospects!
Fleming is a five star point guard and arguably the best at that position in America.
He has the potential to be great here. And I think any scout would tell you that.

No. They just could not buy a jumper all night. They had open 3’s and ā€œnothingā€ would fall in with any regularity. #41 for Bellaire was controlling the paint on defense when they tried to lay it up within his vicinity, but I think Brennan missing from deep was more about them and less about Bellaire’s perimeter D.

Man, can Kingston pass the rock.

We’ve become so deep that we’re redshirting good players—before, only project players redshirted. McCarty and Miller are both playing decent minutes almost every year, but this year is the first time we’ve redshirted a top 70 four-star or had a top-50 recruit who wasn’t in our rotation.

With Ramon potentially returning, we’re far too deep at the wing. We have six on the roster and might only play 2-3. For him to get playing time, both TA and Ramon would need to be gone—only then would he have a chance to potentially beat out McCarty for the backup 3 spot.

That said, I think he’s vastly underrated. He’s not a project; honestly, he’s good enough as a freshman to play for us and contribute if we needed him to. He’s more of a Sasser/Mills-type freshman than a Powell/Armbrester.

At 6’6", he also a body that is D1-ready. He scores a lot, but normally, when a player is 6’6" at the high school level, I expect a lot of bullying smaller defenders, a lot of ā€œbigger, faster, strongerā€ points that don’t translate—sometimes even cherry-picking. But I watched two full games of his, and the majority of his scoring comes from shooting, three-pointers or mid-range jumpers. He’s also really good off the dribble—not elite, but really good for 6’6". That type of scoring translates. Plus, he can really defend.

A lot of people will see the three-star rating and downplay him, not realizing he’s only rated that low because injuries kept him out for most of his junior and sophomore years.

I’ll even throw out a hot take—he’s a better overall prospect than Armoni was when Armoni entered the program. But I still bet he redshirts.
