hopefully having 3 players go in the lottery comes into fruition because that means 2026 went pretty great for us :pray:t5:

If Cooper Flagg had gone to UH, Coogfans would have him playing 8 minutes as a backup.

I definitely would. But only because he’s a bit foul happy. And made a mistake on a throw in once

if it was up to coogfans mercy and flagg would play 32 minutes a game after we lost to alabama :sob:

I don’t understand why people think Kingston will sit. It doesn’t fit Sampson’s history. (1) when he’s had 5-star freshmen, they’ve started. See Eric Gordon and Jarace. (2) Further, he’s started freshman pgs both here (Galen and to an extent Sasser/Mills, who started a number of games at point ahead of Jarreau in 19-20) and at OU (Hollis Price).

If Kingston is the best option, he’s going to play regardless of his classification.

@Hill , yes sir……I appreciate you.

But, doubtful any of the naysayers will actually admit they were wrong….thats okay.

no one thinks Kingston will sit…that was never a point of conversation… the debate is if he will be the lead starting point guard with the keys to the program, or we bring in someone else we expect to start …with kings still getting atleast 20 mins

No way this is true. He is going to redshirt.

No. There are still some people here that think we are possibly redshirting some of our freshmen. lol

All incoming freshman are redshirts next year. We are winning the championship in 2027-2031 with these incredible incoming freshman that will bring home 4 championships to UH together from 2027 to 2031!!! All are committed to getting great NBA draft stock by fully developing at UH for all 4 years after redshirting!! Go Coogs!!

Ps some are already applying for a 5th COVID year!

PPS the coaching staff has been working out the injury schedule for these kids to get medical redshirts. If these plans are followed, we will also bring home the 2032 and 2033 championships

I still don’t think he starts. But he is definitely playing 20+ minutes per game.

People get hung up on the ā€œdon’t get caught youngā€ thing and focus too much on starters and specific positions. Of course Sampson would prefer to start every season with a high-level experienced PG, but he’s not going to sit a difference-maker just because he’s a freshman.

If we’re lucky enough to have Milos back, he would almost certainly be the ā€œstarting PGā€ and Kingston would either come off the bench or play a hybrid guard role like LJ. But Milos is a great shooter and could easily slide over to a shooting guard spot if/when Kingston is ready to run the point more.

Regardless, he’s almost certainly going to be on the court for at least 15-20 minutes a game. If he’s playing alongside or behind Milos…we’re gonna be pretty awesome.

we wouldnt we move milos to the 2…i would understand if we were a bad team and milos was a star… and you are experimenting how to win with your stars… but we are atleast a final 4 team with milos running the main point… if milos is back he is the starting pg, d when they are in together milos is still the 1

Aren’t we expecting Jackson to redshirt?
