Offensive Line gels and CW plays like the 5-Star player he’s capable of being.
Either way, this is a Bowl Team.
It’s Year 2. Willie has had good recruiting classes, both in the portal and with Texas HS Players. No job has EVER been too big for him. He’s different. He’s a Winner…
Floor
3-9 we don’t replace the losses on defense and offense isn’t good enough to overcome it
Ceiling
8-4
We are even better than we thought and we knock off someone unexpected along the way.
I see 2 guaranteed wins on the schedule. I see 3 more “likely wins.”
So I’ll say our floor is 5-7.
If that happens, it will be because our OL isn’t very good and we can’t replace the great defensive players we lost from last season’s team.
Ceiling? 9-3
This would shock the world and prove a few things: Fritz can get it done at the P4 level, Weigman is better than he’s ever shown before (consistently), and UH fans can buckle up for some fun ahead.
Out of my mind, YEE HAW 9-3
Out on the limb 8-4: because they always sneak up on someone.
Expected 7-5: because they always break your heart once a year.
Disappointed 6-6: we’re better than that.
Any worse: let’s not go there.

Six to eight wins.
We won four games last season. Some of these wins were seen as highly improbable. Our schedule on paper is favorable to bring us six wins. We have made major improvements both on offense and defense…and COACHING. We got two unexpected wins last season. Let’s do it again this season.
Just to name the following players Weigman, Koziol and Carlisle bring us an offense that we have not seen since the 90’s in a power conference. That to me is how we can truly “measure” HCWF season. The same can be said with our defense…which appears to be a question mark. We are far from a “complete” program but again on “paper” we have some major improvements. But again friends this is not a video game. All I care is that we win every game by one or more points.
So we have gone 4-8 the last 2 seasons, however, with Fritz being in year 2 and our schedule being easier than last year I put our floor at 5-7.
As far as the ceiling, that is tougher. Part of it will depend on if Weigman can play and how some of our transfers come along. Not as many really hard games on paper this year so maybe our peak is something like 8-4. Also, Fritz has a record of developing REALLY good teams but it takes multiple years typically for him to get there. I think these 9 or 10 win ceilings are too high.
Ultimately I think we make a bowl game this year and every year from here on out with Fritz as our HC. 6-6 is my prediction for the 2025 season with further improvement into the future. I am optimistic we won’t see a losing season for the next few years after seeing 4 of our last 6 being losing records.
