2025 T&F Season

UH finishes 3rd out of 13 in Big 12 men’s track.

Hopefully we’ll get a Top 10 finish at nationals!

They won’t. Just go check out the SEC times. Sprinkled in with USC. SEC is on another level in track

We’ve finished in the Top Ten in recent years.

Don’t rule us out.

Men’s squad: It’s possible.
110 hurdles
100 meters
Jumps
4x4
4x1
200 meters
Throws
The odds are tough. Your theory is not eliminated but you need a lot of PB’s to be top 10 nationally. Some surprising runs by the men.

Unlikely

There are currently 32 teams with a better 4x100 time than us.
41 100m sprinters with a better time than our best.
50 200m sprinters with a better time than our best.
And so on.
Like stated above, SEC is killing it. We’ll score some points but highly doubtful top 10. Our best hope to sneak into the top 10 is in the 110m hurdles

4x4 could make national finals possibly. Slim chance with the 4x1 relay only because John Adesola haven’t ran on A team yet. I give men a chance because of PB could happen. But your right, if they run slower than they PB’s very few will make it. Carl do train his runners to be at best around this time of season. To avoid burning out

Mouton was hurt. She missed the 2025 indoor season. She probably was still recovering from her injury when she was running outdoors.
BTW I sent an email to a UH coach about Mouton in the indoor season, asking why she missed indoor season but did not receive a reply.

Was it her hamstrings? Still hamstrings either allow to run or they re aggravate. I’m skeptical that it maybe personal than an actual injury. I was looking forward to watching her blossom this year. Also Journie Franklin I thought could be a phenom coming out of high school. She actually not running times she did in Highschool. Both sides are young. I expect next to be big year for both.

Thanks for the links. Lots of good action today, men first round. espn+. Track starts at 6pm with 110m hurdles.

Adesola and Marshall advance.

100m now up

Horrible 100m. Only Adesola advances. Both Broadnax and Chabot run over .25 their season best and don’t qualify.
Smith-Mata with a false start and is out.

Or maybe playing the long game, keeping then fresh for the 4x100?

Done for the night.

John Adesola is the only one to qualify for the 100m and not be on A team 4x1. I’m not sure what’s going on with the training. Too many times athletes fade around Regionals and Nationals. The women ran bad before this track meet now the men. Men still have the 4x1, 400m, 800m and 4x4 relays. Women have the 4x1, 100 hurdles, possibly the 800m and definitely shot put.

Dove, 6th best throw in the ncaa shot did not even start tonight in the shot put. What is going on???

I assume she was injured.

Disappointing year for the track team. Carl Lewis needs to step up his game. Men’s 4x1 could not even qualify out of regionals. Want to see what his next recruiting moves are.

Adelosa and Marshall move on in the 110 hurdles. Nice race by both.

The saddest thing about the 4x100 is that the team was only .03 off their season best and still didn’t advance. Sam Houston, Pine Bluff Ark, and Utah Valley were among the teams that advanced.

Adelosa runs a season best 10.09 in the 100 with the 12th best time but does not advance due to his finish in his heat.

Anthony East III goes out a little too fast in the 400m but manages to qualify.
His prelim time of 45.23 is the fastest of the meet. Should do well at the championships.

Adesola hasn’t been on A-team 4x1 all season. I guess he wanted to give Chabot and Muholland all the chances in the works to fail. Chabot was at Olympic trials but digressed at Houston. Muholland never peaked all season. Track is one of the few sports where off the track activity has immediate affects. Men’s do have a good 4x4. They will punch a ticket.

I kinda get why he wasn’t on the 4x100, would have been 3 races in 1 1/2 hours tonight. Should have been addressed earlier in the season.

What is concerning is that Adesola and Marshall are both seniors and very little coming from the underclassmen. Haven’t done much research into next year, but not feeling it from what I’ve seen.

I have to blame it on diet and training to a certain extent. For example Cayden ran 10:15 2 weeks ago, Regionals he run 10:45. Chabot best 10:23, he runs 10.60. Many more examples but either the training and recovery is off. They are running worst towards end of season. Women’s and Men’s are very young. Carl has some really good runners coming in on both sides. I expect a jump next year. They almost done a rebuild for the women’s side. The men will be fine. This is the first year they didn’t perform up to expectations. Plus Carl team is new to long distance and certain field events. Next season scholarships should be taken if they under perform.
