No Texas 15th or OR State 9th.
Easier games ahead.
Feels like into Big12 play before
we get the big picture.
So far.
Looks like enough good pitching for 2 games of every 3.
Maybe more.
Hitting not great cept a few guys but all the regulars had a moment.
Some Bad News Coogs in the field but better.
After UT-Arl w 10 games down we can look at the stats.
First back-to-back series wins against Power 4/5 non-conference
opponents since 2015 is a good start.
SAM is 2-5.
1-2 vs Mizz State/ Lost at Rice/ 1-2 vs NJIT.
Last SAM win at UH was 2017.
UT-Arlington is 2-3.
2-1 v UTSA/ 0-2 at Okie State.
Losing to a top ranked team, especially at their place, can still improve your RPI while beating a bottom dweller at home will most likely hurt your RPI. The score doesnāt matter.
Bottom line is that we did not play them due to weather. We donāt know what the outcome could have been. That said, getting pounded by a much better team is simply demoralizing. Nothing good comes of seeing how good the other team is, and we will never be them (potentially).
This is so wrongā¦.getting pounded by another team is demoralizing? GTHOā¦.
That take is beyond soft.
When I was in school I got a later start to wrestlingā¦.my sophomore year I got my a$$ handed to me every freaking tournamentā¦.i thought I was going to crush these guys and it was the exact oppositeā¦.their talent and skill level was much higherā¦.it was embarrassing.
The next summer I went to multiple camps, got lessons from college guys, etcā¦.next year was better and senior year was two matches away from state title.
My story is not unique.
Every sport is like thisā¦.a basketball team gets beat by 30 and two weeks later they beat that same teamā¦ā¦itās the same in baseballā¦.you get beat 14-1 on Friday and win 6-3 on Sunday.
You are talking about little kids playing t-ball type stuffā¦.saying that āitās demoralizing ā to D-1 athletes is a joke man.
Nut up and get betterā¦ā¦if itās too demoralizing then put the glove down and pick up a guitar.
A tad off topic, but this really drives home the point of needing to win in Houston to draw consistent crowds. A Rice game against Arizona this week, dollar dogs and $3 beer. Not that we have any room to talk.
