For the casual baseball fan that doesn’t understand how important scheduling is, what you posted is a perfect example.

We are 2 games over .500
.look at the other teams around us with similar RPI’s
.

Rice at 4-17 is two spots ahead and Oakland at 3-18 is one spot below.

Nothing could be more telling than that.

To be fair, we did have games canceled against Texas (16 RPI) and Oregon State (27 RPI). As you know, even losses in those games would provide a major boost to the RPI.

Yes, there is no doubt those games would have helped their RPI, win or lose. However, you can’t play two good teams and then have the rest in the 170-200 range. You are never going to get anywhere with that schedule. There is absolutely no way you schedule a series with Grambling.

Even with two wins against those two( which we know wouldn’t happen) the RPI would still be in the 140-150 range.

It’s over 200 right now
.no way to make excuses.

After seeing Rice pull the trigger 21 games into the season I wonder if that has an impression on Nunez?

It’s not as though he has a bunch of years on a contract to pay off.

Hypothetically, if the team is at or near the bottom of the conference after the next few series could we see him pull the trigger?

If bigger is better, 2021’s 233 final RPI rank is in sight!

Well
we do appear to be the Grambling of the Big XII.

This has to stop. If this is the last year of the may as well let it play out, but next year has to be fresh.

In the new world where everyone is a free agent at the end of the season and NIL, you should pull the trigger. Let one of the assistants run the program the rest of the year. Gives you time to find your replacement and have him in place ASAP to hit the recruiting trail.

Great point @sarkcoog

If the AD isn’t already looking for replacement candidates, I would be surprised. Once he has them, then yes, pull the trigger and end the madness. Plug in new guy and begin the HS outreach.

This is sickening; we’re the lowest ranked team in the city at the moment.

Curious if Sean Allen was hired, who he might be able to get as his pitching coach as well as the rest of his staff?

If they would have hired him say two yrs ago at least he’d be two yrs in to the rebuild.

Could you have ever dreamed of being behind TSU ?

UH would demolish all of those teams.

I still support my Coogs Win or Lose!

We need pitching and more pitching to win games!

Go Coogs!
