No they wouldn’t. I have seen HCU play in person. They have a good team. They are not as talented as UH but they are a better team.
We would beat HCU.
No we wouldn’t. We have no pitching. You have never seen them play and have no idea.
I watched them play Rice.
How can you even say that?
They just lost to an injury riddled Sam Houston team….TWICE in one day, and in one game we’re spotted a five run lead!
You think SAM is head and shoulders above HCU?
No sir.
The fact that there is even an argument over whether or not we could beat HCU shows how far down this program has dropped.
I said at the beginning of the year I would not be fooled again.
Others talked about how good we were going to be because of the two Blinn guys.
It takes more than a couple of good bats to be a winning team….its not little league.
HCU lost to Rice.
We beat Rice 18-1.
Transitive properties aren’t always a thing, but given that, I gotta believe we’d beat HCU in a head to head.
Baseball is different game to game. They lost to Sam but I think their bats would be good enough to beat HCU.
Hold up….you’re saying that a team could win one day and then turn around and lose to the same team the next day?

Well, Sam and HCU are different teams; not the same.
Can’t believe we are arguing whether we can beat HCU or not. What a sad state the Baseball program is in.
That is true. We can ALL agree on that.
Add
2 Bad News Bears type SAM errors from a SAM sweep.
SAM is 6-15 w a 6-1 loss to Rice on a cold day in Feb.
Seen some mentions its headed towards as horrible as 2021 (19 wins).
I dont see it that bad.
All the mid week Tomato Cans/ Grambling x 3 w Utah x 3 upcoming
should be 20+ wins.
The portal.
Ace Reese quite good so far at Ms State.
Playing 3d base in the games Ive seen.
Don’t get swept @ UCF and go from there.
In the games I have seen, Reese has been mostly at 3rd and some at LF. I must admit that I never saw him at 3B. He is at .321 right now.
Just because we beat Rice has nothing to do with how HCU would match up against UH. They beat Rice twice as well.
And, yes, the fact we are discussing this tells you how far the program has fallen.
This thread is cringe worthy…sad, sad, sad state of affairs this once great program has sunken to. No way Eddie lets this garbage continue past this season…It’s WAY past time to clean house and move on
Need a dandy from Schmitzie tonight or its looking grim.
UCF is 2nd nationally in team BA at .351.
Their 2nd baseman leads nation in BA & On Base %.
Former Coogs Thomas Lyssy, Brandon Burckel, and Rey Mendoza are doing well for Incarnate Word:
Lyssy is playing well, started 21 games and is batting .300, but Burckell and Mendoza have barely played. That is probably the level Lyssy needs to be in.
Seems the right level.
.114 (?) at Indiana in 15 starts last season.
Whitt/ staff missed huge on the 3 Banditos in that class.
We hoped Burckel, Lott, and Nickens the core of UH as seniors.
Lott hitting .182. Over 5 era and the good teams ahead.
Look at Nickens first two season here. He was a very productive player before last season. So I wouldn’t say the staff missed on him.
But again, he totally tanked last year.
