Because they force you to drink beer in that one area…
I hated playing at TCU……I always felt like the fans were on top of me.
What was the grandstand like then?
Reading your post , In my head I was “ what the hell do you think it was like” then I re-read my post….it should have said “coached” not played”……
Back in the 90’s it was by the football stadium I believe.
I was treading lightly lol
It is in the same place and, yes, the grandstand is right on top of the field. Gives the fans a way to be way more involved. Great home atmosphere.
I had been to oregon state and aggie fields, those arent that great imo, especially aggie field as its full of aggies and being aggies the highlight if the game for them is counting the train whistles as it goes by. cal’s stadium looks good, like to see it if i can make that trip.
off topic, glad to see SHSU and SFA are in the rotation as weekday games, they always seemed to fit with UH being opponents as part of SE Texas. they both have nice college towns and campuses.
If you don’t think A&M has one of the top facilities in the country then you are fooling yourself. I don’t think you could get anyone in college baseball to agree with you.
Schloss didn’t think it was that great - quit to go to UT because they wouldn’t build a new one.
I think it’s pretty sharp, although the outfield view isn’t very appealing. Definitely a great home field advantage, regardless.
thats a biased opinion in my part, aggies are my least favorite i even like loghorns better.
The atmosphere at Blue Bell is amazing….nobody that is a baseball fan can deny that……
If UH fires TW, then makes a good hire and starts winning then maybe the stadium can be expanded….go down the lines further and maybe add a section behind the fence by the scoreboard….turn it into a student section and let them get as rowdy as they want to out there….
It would give you a better bid proposal for regionals as well……gotta get rid of you know who first.
Get a coach that can recruit, and also come up with a better OOC schedule……it continues to be pathetic for anyone that hasn’t looked yet.
They’re getting an $80 million facility. I think that Schloss went to UT because it’s one of the premier baseball programs in the country and he already has a relationship with the AD from their time at TCU.
But I think Blue Bell Park was upgraded in 2011 and is already a really nice facility.
The Aggies have agreed to a $100 million dollar renovation to re-up Blue Bell. It is really hard to compete with them when the cult gets together like that.
He left for the money, and the fact he hated Trev Alberts, not because he thought UT’s stadium/facilities are better. The Disch is not what it once was and is probably in the lower third of the SEC.
Maybe compared to LSU and the Mississippi States but they still have a really nice facility. They added a new development center in 2019.
MSU - Better
Ole Miss - Better
A&M - Better
Tennessee - Redoing theirs right now
SC - Better
Alabama - Just redid theirs and is better
Aubern - Disch
OU - Disch
LSU - Better
Arkansas - Better
Georgia - Disch
Florida - Better
Vanderbilt - Better
Missouri - Disch
Kentucky - Redoing Right Now
That would easily put them in the bottom third of the SEC.
The dude cited that as one of the reasons he left. Maybe he lied. Don’t know - don’t really care.
I’ve been to Blue Bell plenty of times. It probably does need some upgrades under the hood, but it’s a nice park.
He was doing what Schloss does, which is lie his butt off.
So in other words, he’s a coach.
Exactly!!!
DF was falling apart and in need of a big makeover soon if it’s not already happening.
