I won’t jump the gun and rejoice until I see those NIL dollars coming in.
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Anyway, check your DMs in a few minutes. I’d like to send you something baseball related.

HCU is playing in the finals of their tournament. They are a good team but they are not a Power 4 program.
I have not heard how many scholarships we are going to go with. We will be able to compete at a very high level if we offer 34 scholarships, even if we have $0 NIL money. NIL in baseball is not as good as a lot of people think it is. Not many schools, even in the Big 12, have a legitimate NIL package. Sure, schools in the SEC do but not even all of the Big 12 programs have one. You will need it to get to the CWS level, though.
We started to suck under Whitting well before NIL was started.
FWIW, a reliable source claims Rice will start with 21.
Thanks for the info. I am actually surprised they are giving out that many. AAC money is far from Big 12 money. I would doubt that half the schools in the AAC would give at least 21.
Exactly.
It is amazing how bad the Summer teams from the Valley are. There are a lot of good players down there. Do they just play with 12 and the Banditos?
Being super honest here……some of the teams down there are world beaters between the ages of 10-14 years old……lots of those kids mature very early….then HS age these other kids start maturing and catch up pass them up.
Just looking back at past seasons……after this season ends TW will have made the postseason only FOUR times in FOURTEEN seasons NOT counting COVID.
Absolutely pathetic.
Honest question, how did we end up with one of the best pitchers in NCAA? It seems he could have gone anywhere, was it Woody?
12 Seed BYU eliminates 5 seed Arizona State in first game of b12 tournament
He transferred in last year from Alabama but didn’t impress in ‘24. Not sure what happened in the offseason but he made one hell of a turnaround. He allowed 45 less hits this year in the same amount of innings to go along with 37 more Ks. That’s crazy.
ERA—5.97
IP—63
H—81
BB—29
BAA—.308
Nobody was offering NIL for that performance last year.
This article talks about some of the changes that were made over the offseason. It certainly worked out.

If not for Frank Anderson it would be more like ZERO times in FOURTEEN seasons.
I never could root against U of H in anything, so I am hoping that Whit isn’t fired tonight, but really really soon.
Games on ESPN2 tonight.
