Best value of seats in the stadium. See you next fall. ![]()
Iād say zero. 50 seasons ago (74 - 75) UH basketball was Otis Birdsong, Lou Dunbar, Maurice Presley, David Marrs, and a young Cecil Rose, a team that finished 16-10 but never backed down from anybody. Alabama went 22-5, won the SEC, and finished the season #10 in the country. They scored a season-high 105 points against us. (And that was before the 3-point shot was invented.) Thatās a game to forget, not use as inspiration to play Bama again now.
Playing no name teams will not increase attendance for non-conference games. Even a lot of season ticket holders will find other things to do. I never heard of Oakland or Queens universities. I thought they must be in Oakland, CA and Queens in New York. Nope, I looked them up and they are in Michigan and Charlotte.
The reality is that UH is not going to pay a large incentive fee to a top tier program (like say a Kentucky or Alabama or Texas or Louisville) to come play UH in the ~7,000 seat Fertitta Center when both schools can earn a lot more playing elsewhere in an ~18,000 seat arena.
Yes sir! Iāll be there. ![]()
Seems like a good game to help make new fans by selling your tix cheap, or donating them, to some kids who WILL go and watch the HOUSTON COUGARS!
That Friday November 27 might be nice opportunity to take family or friends who are in town for the holiday to a game.
Not a bad idea⦠might make that my first game at FC and go to the Baylor v UH Football game the next day!
Iāll be first in line for the presale.
For a doubleheader that doesnāt include UH?
Go figure. UH fans werenāt showing up when UH played in it 3 straight years
Oops! Misread that. Assumed (I know) that it was part of our Toyota game. Thank you for saving me from myself. ![]()
Interesting doubleheader. I did not think Florida St. had many fans at Toyota Center when they played at Toyota Center last year against UH. Letās see if Florida St, fans come out for Texas A&M. I think Miami will draw even less than Florida St.
Clearly, the promoters are banking on good crowds from Texas and Texas A&M. This may be a litmus test to see if the annual Toyota doubleheader can draw without UH in the field.
Straight up disrespectful to have it in Houston without us in it⦠period.
They gave us a shot. Weāve played there against Auburn, aTm, and Florida State the last 3 years and the crowds were sad. It may be like they say, all about the Benjamins
Iāll still be in the building watching. Thatās a good day of basketball as long as youāre a hoops fan. Unless, of course, UH is playing somewhere else at the same time
In fairness, UT, ATM, and Florida State drew a lot less than we did at Toyota.
I wonder how many tickets they actually need to sell to be profitable or does the tv rights they get make ticket sales less important.
We do not play well against Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide, for whatever reason. Would prefer to play Georgia or Florida, but no one cares what I think.
