2026 is really Year 1 for Fritz

Unfortunately, I was in attendance for all 5 of the listed disappointments.

Getting to Annapolis from DC in 2016 in a monsoon was frustrating for me.

2012 vs Texas State would be in my top 10 though along with 2017 vs Memphis.

2025 vs WVU is already in my top 10 but not as clear cut to make top 5.

Navy was just a tough loss to a good team. Personally I don’t have that one very high in my frustrating UH loss rankings.

Edit: seeing that you went to the game though I can understand why it might stand out more to you. One of my least favorite UH games was UH vs UCLA for the same reasons. Seeing Case get hurt in person and having to sit in a sea of douchey UCLA fans was brutal.

Houston played 14 games that year?

Yah we lost the CUSA title game to ECU

The punt snap going through the end zone for a safety and pick 6 thrown by Ward was what set me off lol.

It was a long drive back to DC when I realized our playoff chances was done.

We had the schedule in 2016 to make the playoffs with a top 10 OU and Louisville.

And I go even further than that.

I’ve never been afraid to provide my real name.

We were not going to make the playoffs this year.

SMU made the playoffs because the ACC is trash.

Ponies are 1-6 against Big 12 since 2023

Idk why some of y’all act like we were supposed to make the Big 12 CCG. We had a good run. Even if we end the regular season 8-4, that’s massive progress from last year. Most of us expected a bowl game & anything beyond that was a plus.

We’re still in the middle of a rebuild. Rome wasn’t built overnight, & it damn sure didn’t have to deal with $NIL either. Be patient. We have the right guy leading this program, just not all the right Joe’s (yet). Next year, 10 wins is the standard. 2027, we should expect a Big 12 Title. It takes time.

Well, we could’ve made the CCG, but it would’ve required a win out along with help from other schools

And what will you say if we make the CCG the next 3 out of 4 years?

Will that be a failure? Consistency being at the top is being a good program.

ASU is not playing in the CCG this year. Were they just a flash in the pan? Who knows.

Right. My point is, if a psychic told us all back in July that were were gonna end the season 8-4, I’m sure no one would’ve been upset with that outcome. But it’s HOW this season played out that gave so many false hope.

I think too many of us are blinded by our 2 “winnable losses” that we forget all about our 3, easily “losable wins”. We had some luck throughout the season & injuries took a toll on us offensively. Also, losing Coach Hester clearly had a major impact on the team & the staff.

Despite that, this team has already exceeded expectations. We have to keep supporting them regardless. As we saw with Jayden Warren, fan support can affect our ability to recruit effectively. We HAVE TO do our part.

My assumption is that Fritz has been building towards 2026.

2026 is where everything begins, but people want immediate success.

Patience.

Do you think I want UH to fail? You must be crazy.

We still lost winnable games vs WVU and TCU as a ranked team but it is what it is.

It is what it is. If we’re being honest with ourselves, this was never a 10, or even an 11 win roster.

  • It took TWO blocked field goals to beat (2-9) Oregon State

  • We needed a walk-off FG to beat Arizona

  • ASU: didn’t have Jordyn Tyson, missed 2 FGs, had a TD called back bc the WR was lined up 1yd behind the LOS, Leavitt fumbled a pass forward, & we STILL almost blew it. Sanchez missed that FG at the end & we got saved by a penalty. Oh, and Leavitt got hurt.

All 3 of those games could’ve easily been losses. We’re just as close to being (5-6) as we are to (10-1). I’m not gonna cry about (8-3)

Yeah, the eye test and the stats agree we’re about where we should be, and that we’ve maybe even overachieved a little. We should probably beat Baylor, but if this is our karmic tradeoff for winning the Arizona game, so be it. This does need to be a get right game for our offense, though. Baylor’s defense is garbage.

I’d say we’re really building to ‘27 and ‘28. That’s when we should be loaded and have the marquee non-conference opportunities to really make some noise nationally.

5-0 on the road. I don’t see why we can’t make it 6-0. It’s not like we’ll be dealing with a raucous crowd or anything :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
