I didn’t take bowl games into account, because there would be too many possibilities.
So I only took the conf champ game into account on the upper end.
I believe Ryan said the Coogs would go 8-4 in the regular season, a week or so ago?
I know that’s not what he wants, but believe he comes from the school of thought of not setting expectations too high, and it’s better being pleasantly surprised than disappointed.
I think most of his concern was due to the o-line needing time to gel and perhaps “upgrading” that assessment if the O-line lives up to its potential.
Not trying to speak “for him”, per se. I just know he is not alone in that take.
Over under is 8.5. It all hinges on Wegman’s health
While CW is certainly the single most important player on the team, I don’t believe it all “hinges on him”.
This is where I tend to agree with Ryan, that the o-line will be the single biggest factor in how the season goes.
11-1 headed into the Playoffs.
15-0 headed into the national championship game.
What is our record if we lose him for the season, say, in September? It doesn’t matter how the oline performs if we don’t have CW as triggerman.
Championships & playoffs go to the teams that are healthy at the end of the season.
I would predict 11-1, lose in first round of playoffs, hopefully not as bad as TCU or TT.
All of the above goes into our predictions, all goes into the gumbo. No do-overs for injuries or because a unit didn’t gel or live up to its potential. Make your informed picks now, get them on record.
Exactly Rob!
CW won’t be at his best without the O-line living up to their potential is all I’m saying.
So, in my mind, it “hinges” on the o-line.
I just happen to believe the Coogs return their 2 best linemen from last season and added 2 All-Conference guys and an All-American.
The o-line is who I’ll be watching a month from today.
11-1 in the regular season, but the loss isn’t to Tech or Utah
Vegas O/U is 8.5
I have played 2 season on NCAA27 and that was my result both times.
Unfortunately, as BYU learned last year, a Big 12 team with an 11-1 regular season record isn’t a lock to make the playoffs.
Yeah… and the Coogs non con is similar to BYU’s last year.
Got to win the conference Championship.
59 people have voted and only 1 (so far) took under the Vegas line; just barely.
Either we’re a bunch of homers or Vegas doesn’t have a freakin’ clue.
It may be a little of both?
As of the time I’m writing this, 18% of voters predict a 13+ win season. The homer theory is undeniable. I doubt people are putting money on that prediction.
It depends on the odds, but someone will…
I refuse to bet.
I’m cold turkey on life’s vices.
