Of course what we have been needing is a “Master Recruiter” as we used to see with Coach Yeoman.

WE just played in the college basketball championship and have the #1 recruiting class in a HIGHLY COMPETITIVE NIL environment.
We are the kings of NIL right now.
Give football a chance to catch up…geez.

That would be amazing. I have trouble seeing that, though, at least in the near future. Maybe at some point we’ll have another John Moores or another such wealthy alumnus who’s willing to fork over a ton of cash like the oilman who gave millions to Tech. I do think our AD and Linking Coogs are working on it.

Under the old system, Kirby Smart was making $13,000,000 annually. His players were making zero according to their tax returns. Houston could not compete with Georgia under the old system.
Now, Houston has a chance to compete with Georgia . I prefer this system.

You probably have to give up some $ from basketball to go to football to make that happen… not sure that‘s what you want to do. Maybe it is since football is king and could potentially make UH look more attractive in the future. I would rather stick to where our bread is buttered and be a powerhouse in basketball and then whatever else is left can go to football (as well as what is necessary for baseball and others).
No…we hold on Basketball.
Its the #2 sport and in the NIL era we’ve consistently been a top 5 program with 2 Final Fours and 1 Championship.
We hold…Basketball NIL is highly competitive and we’ve found a secret to success that make other programs jealous!

In football we are probably a farm system but I think Willie keeps us competitive.

I think the programs just going to have to built slow and steady. That’s how Sampson did it. If you can at least get back to competitive, hopefully attendance and fan engagement go up. And then that leads to some progress on the NIL front. Maybe it never materializes but imo part of why we hired Fritz was because he was able to win at Tulane which had some of the worst resources in the AAC.

That’s great, but I am not sure that makes up for the loss of a first team all conference player.
Perhaps Connor will have a breakout year and help us forget this off season’s NIL failure.
In case you don’t know football, the Quarterback position is pretty important…they can really help you win Championships.
We had a GREAT defense last season but no QB and we didn’t even make it to a Bowl Game
