Facts. I haven’t watched tape on him yet, but I will this week

With us having a good season and other coaches getting fired, I’m hoping we can flip a couple of recruits. If we flip just 2 high level recruits, that would make a big difference.
I’m mainly looking at LSU recruits. That whole situation looks like chaos, and Fritz was recruiting Louisiana when he was at Tulane.

Willie’s 2026 class is ranked 32 with just HS Recruits.
He’s gonna kill it with the portal.
He is a phenomenal evaluator of needs, talent, and fit. And he’ll get the needs addressed right up front.
Koziol, Thomas, Connor’s, and yes, even Weigman, all came out if the portal. And I haven’t even mentioned defense…

Hoping to grab some DB’s in the portal. We’ve been getting burned. We need some speed in the secondary.

Hoping we get more O-linemen in the portal so our QB isn’t running for his life more than any other QB in Division 1 Football…
Complimentary Football starts with having longer, sustained drives on offense and a more rested defense…

OL will be a high priority with the portal. I think we are losing at least 3 seniors from the starting O-line.

CWF can keep this train rollin’ if he signs some solid OL’s and someone to replace Allen on the D line.

I think our Corners have been very good this season. Will James and Lattrell Mcutchin have been solid on the outside and Wrook Brown is the best nickel corner in the Big 12 in my opinion. Will James is red shirt sophomore so he should be back, but replacing Brown and Mcutchin could be tricky. Zelmar Vedder has been good but he’s a 5th year senior, but since he spent a year in Jucco we might be able to get him back. Marcus Stampley is a true senior but if he has a covid year I would pencil him in as the starter at nickel for next season. Keany Parks still needs to develop but maybe he can start next to James next year with some good coaching.

Tough job (VT)
I think the secondary has done much better than I could’ve possibly expected with a brand new DC plus the losses of Haulcy & Wilson. However, if Wrook Brown is going to continue to start at the “Star” position, I’d like to see Marc Stampley start at CB (instead of Will James). I’ve seen just as much “bad” as I’ve seen “good” with James. I think him & Vedder coming off the bench to spell Stampley & McCutchin could make this secondary better.
If this is what we have to work with next season, I won’t be too upset about it. But I’d be over the moon if we’re able to bring in a stud LT & also keep the guys we have from entering the portal.

My kids and grandkids live here in the Houston area. My son lives in Atascocita and my daughter lives here in Katy and I pick up my grandson from Katy high school every day. My wife picks up my granddaughter every day from Katy Jr High and brings her to our house.
My daughter teaches 4th grade math and science at Rennell Elementary and takes her youngest daughter with her to that school, but comes by to pick up my grand daughter. My daughter and her family go to the same church as we do.
All this is to say I love being close to my kids and grandkids and want to stay near them as long as I’m on the blue side of the grass. If I did want to move away, my bride would not go with me, she wants to be with them as well.

Is that showing this years guys or next years? Because I thought Merryman and Ndukwe were SRs this year (along with Wykoff and Brooks). They are both in their 5th year of football and that’s what the UH roster shows. I was assuming this was their last year.
Plus Bowie is R-FR this year, and Ebosele and Hunter are JRs this year.
My sentiments as well Grand Dad! I designed our house 5 years ago to house two generations . Yes, virtually two separate homes under one roof. Each side is walled off with doors for privacy. It has a courtyard in the middle as well. I love seeing the grandchildren grow every day.
I am blessed !

Ebosele, Agnello, and Hunter should be retuning starters if they don’t transfer. We could potentially return three guys who have experience playing with each other which is awesome. I’m bullish on Cayden Bowie’s potential at guard, so we may only need to find one starter in the portal for the Offensive Line.
