…and as far as talent evaluation goes…

Willie was the first one to offer him to play QB…. before Keisean started putting up Video Game Numbers…

Fritz does not seem to have a problem getting talent to commit to UH now. So, if we are better each year, I think his recruiting talent will go up. Seems to make sense.

Willie’s relationship with Keisean reminds me of a story back when I was a student at Auburn in the early 80’s…

Bear Bryant heard about a talented RB in Bessemer, Alabama, and sent an assistant coach to go talk to him. When this talented RB finally got to talk to Bear, he was told… something to the effect of… “Well son, you’re not going to start at Alabama until your Junior year. But we’d like to have you”.

Pat Dye, the Auburn HC, went to the young man’s house, personally, and told him…

“Young Man, if you come to Auburn, you’ll not only play, but you’ll be able to play against Alabama, every year”.

Bo Jackson taught Paul “Bear” Bryant a lesson, and the rest is history.

I’m not saying Keisean is Bo Jackson, but I am saying Willie reminds me a lot of Pat Dye. He does a LOT of his own recruiting. He believes in his players, and they believe in him. And I knew Coach Dye, personally; as I do Coach Fritz.

I could maybe see an argument that he’s pound-for-pound #3; Herman was really freakin’ good by AAC standards. But definitely no worse than third.

Again, you seem emotional and I can understand that for you. Seem pretty par with what everyone says about you. Either way I can respect your opinion as this is a chat room for people who like Houston. Curious… will you still be here caring about Houston football when Fritz is gone? You have claimed he is your good friend many times. Again lets see who stays and who comes in the portal. Let’s see if he will ever get a top 10 recruiting class in the country. I don’t think Houston has ever been in the top 10 in this category, but we as cougar fans can hope. However thank you that I rank #1 in the stupidest thing you have ever heard on this MB. I would get off the dating apps and understand this is a place for us to express our opinions. Just saying my feisty little cougar, hope you can find a seat at our home games… it has been really packed. #SaveConnerWeigman

Would you bet your house he will stay all 4 years?

Exactly!! CWF is a great coach, a great recruiter and has already turned our FB program from loser to an 8 game winner in only his second year…Trolls still lurking on our board with negative drivel…Orangebloods must be closed for the holiday.

Why don’t you just change your name to GreenWave2021 since you’re not a Coogs fan?

It’s a troll. I’d ignore it

Not if he’s good enough to get drafted sooner, but that’s true of EVERY top player/recruit, and that’s also NOT the point.

The point is, Fritz’s ability to recruit the nation’s top prospect DEBUNKS your assertion from above. You should stand corrected in the face of that.

I stand corrected. Good point.

Herman was a solid recruiter. But the Oliver commit had less to do with him or his staff and more to do with his brother playing here. Fritz on the other hand landed Henderson on the strength of his past connections to former players. The fact that he got him to commit to a team coming off a 4-8 season is an insane win. Once he actually gets the program winning the recruiting has a whole other level it can get to.

We have a “winner”….

Just about all of the player “get to know” videos for freshmen this season, all of the players kept saying the coaching staff, when asked why they chose Houston.

I don’t know what the current rules are, but it used to be that a kid can’t go pro in football until after his junior year of college. That was an NFL rule, not NCAA IIRC.
