I am beyond excited that UH got committments from the Covar twins from Magnolia TX. Both Tyler and Tanner had offers from the three service academies. Two young leaders who happen to be very good at football. Tyler will play LB and Tanner will play S.
With all of the coaching changes, it creates opportunity for picking up guys entering the portal. Let’s just say the talent pool will get better in this portal season.
But still, I think CWF and staff already have some guys picked in the portal.
Funny how Stanford is even richer…but still…has yet to find a good NIL “sugar daddy.”
Hell, I watched about 2/3 of the ND v. Stanford game, and Stanford didn’t look like it had anywhere close to decent P4 level physical talent. And to make matters worse, their execution wasn’t much better.
Yes, at least a portion of it. From one of the articles:
“Earlier this year, Stanford announced that it will approach recent changes in a way that continues to uphold its academic and athletic values, including allowing NIL payments and expanding athletics scholarship offerings. Freeman’s gift includes significant support for institutional NIL and creates five new football scholarships for student-athletes.”
I also remember when we had a pair of pretty decent tight ends on the same team…guys named Riley Odoms and Earl Thomas…both who had really nice pro careers.
Riley, from West Oso, is arguably the best athlete to ever play here, At West Oso he was all-state in football, baseball, basketball and track.
He played a little hoops for the Coogs for a year…
