2024 - Did Not Host
2023 - ATM, ULaLa, Oral Roberts
2022 - LaTech, DBU, Air Force
2021 - Az St, Southern, Fairfield
2020 - Covid-19 Cancel
They basically had a 3-seed and two 4-seeds this year. Only UCLA had it easier but they choked against their actual 4-seed.
On the other end, USM and Kansas had 3-seeds that were ranked high enough to be 2-seeds.
USC is one inning away from the CWS….it seems as though their pitching is as advertised….even though some tried to say it’s because they faced weak opponents.
They have the #7 RPI and their Non-Con schedule is #44 but they haven’t faced anyone.
Hope they can finish it out and make it to Omaha.
Closer got rattled after that nuked foul ball - pitching change with a 3-0 count is something you don’t see very often.

Both of those balls should have been caught……and yeah, he got afraid of giving up the long ball after the foul ball….he was in a position to throw a slider on the outside corner to get a “k” or weak grounder….
Honestly, the head coach should have never run the SP out for the 8th….then on top of that he didn’t have anyone hot in the BP.

That CF play was cringe worthy…but…kid was a UTL player and not a true CF…was regular CF hurt ?
I thought the foul ball was more egregious. LF had it easily but pulled up to watch the 3B try an over the shoulder catch at the wall. SMH
There’s no good way to lose, but that was really bad.

We’re going to be like that at TDECU (or the newly named digs) football games within the next 2-3 years.
I hope so….once it starts it snowballs and before you know it, you have a tradition.
We had the momentum again after the Louisville, Florida State and Oklahoma wins. Get some more of those type wins and don’t lose the steam next time. Hopefully we have the leaders in place to keep the momentum going this go round, and we can rock the casbah.
That OU freshman lefty is a DUDE. I read a story about him that talked about how he was mainly a 1B who could pitch a little when he got to school, they tweaked a few mechanical things, and apparently they created a monster.

The guys on TV said he had worked with Pettite on some grip and release things. That guy looks like a major leaguer, and he’s probably bigger than Pettite already.
