Houston Football to host third consecutive Spring Game, slated to be held in TDECU Stadium
HOUSTON – As Houston Football enters Year 3 of the Willie Fritz Era, the Cougars are set to host their third Spring Game in as many years on April 18 at 10 a.m. with the event moving to TDECU Stadium.
Like in years past, the event will be free to the public and will coincide with other Houston Athletics events being hosted on that Saturday.
In addition to the Spring Game on April 18, the University of Houston Frontier Fiesta will be held at the same time just outside TDECU Stadium.
More details, including parking information, concessions and season ticket and other ticket plans will be released closer to the Spring Game.
It’ll be a packed day on campus with plenty going on.
Frontier Fiesta takes place that weekend along with the university’s Family Weekend. Athletics will have the Spring Game, the Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational for track & field, and Coogs Softball is at home with a 3 p.m. game against Arizona State.
Details to come on some Cougar Pride activities for the day, too!
I hope they have the UH Nike Garage sale like last year’s spring game, tons of great deals, they maybe sold out most of their inventory, lines were crazy long
Hope there is money to publicize all the events to the general public including an invite to the incoming freshmen to come to their new home away from home. Get them excited and involved early.
It would be great if UH would at least email all football season ticket holders with this information…somehow I seem to always be left off email notifications if things like this
Thomas - I promise we’ve got more information coming and it’ll be shared in email, social, and press release. We’re working with quite a few campus partners given the moving pieces of the day. Parking alone has a few elements as the Platinum Lot will be offline for Frontier Fiesta and the Stadium Garage will be impacted by Family Weekend. We’ll have the details out as quickly as we can once we’re locked in. Appreciate your patience!
Due to the Saban rule, head coaches don’t have as much to do after spring practice ends. They aren’t allowed to go on the road for spring evaluations at high schools. The TD Club is a beneficiary as we are able to secure coaches in April & May. It gives them a chance to come to Houston, get on local TV and show the flag.
