Bad luck blue.
Trashed my shirt along with the rest of our season ticket group of 20 plus years.
Red and white rule the land.
Remind me what the school colors are?
Last year’s game against TT was embarrassing as the announcers simply assumed that the blue shirts were the home team, and ALL of the red were TT fans.
While I can take the Columbia blue or leave it, that game was NOT the game to wear blue for UH. Hope the person who made the call for that game went back to their real job as SID for softball
I appreciate the fervent traditionalists. I consider myself one. In a closet full of scarlet red, I have two blue shirts. One of football and one for basketball. If I see a blue UH shirt I like, I will buy it.
I set my red allegiance aside for two games a year to support the team and the promotion.
No hate from me if you choose red or white.
so, on family weekend and hispanic heritage game, we are going to do festive clors like the spurs do ?
how about a go texans game reflexing the rodeo ? thats got a long time houston tradition and there’s plenty of wanna be cowboys about.
I’ve always been a fan of military appreciation games, for several reasons that don’t need explanation.
But, if you need a theme for every game, then UH should do a game where the theme is honoring law enforcement, firefighters, etc…
Overall, theme games are a +, IMO. Anytime you can honor a deserving group of folks in the community, you gain more “buy-in” and loyalty from fans.
In Houston, creating a tighter bond with the Hispanic community makes good sense as well…
Free tickets and parking should be part of it.
Screw the revenue. Gaining new fans and selling concessions makes it worthwhile, even from a financial perspective…
And the crowd is bigger too…
Win - Win
Heck, have a “Teacher’s Appreciation Game”. Most HS Football Coaches are Teachers too; right? But you gotta make sure it’s a Saturday game.
Nothing wrong with getting a few thousand more butts in the seats. Fill the daggum stadium; whatever it takes…
In my experience over 20 years of Coogdom it’s as simple as winning consistently…
If Willie does this year what he did last year then the crowds will come.
Winning DOES help crowds.
Crowds also help winning.
It’s symbiotic.
More synergy, less cowbell…
…that’s a Mississippi State thing…
Not sure what the full UH plan is, but we (Section 12X) may have something up our sleeves ![]()
Are you dressing up as Astronauts or Aliens?
I hope UH packs TDECU for the opener.
Whatever it takes.
No excuses…
This team ALREADY merits a full house…
I think the people who keep saying no excuses should be in the stadium, but that’s just me
100% disabled, lots of health concerns, can’t travel that far.
But still 100% Fan…
When Willie was at Central Missouri, I did more to put butts in the seats than anyone alive.
I helped enhance game day atmosphere by providing ammunition for the howitzer to fire for EVERY score (TDs, XPs, FGs, etc…), red smoke for the team entrance, field security, and help with concessions. All things that weren’t being done before.
I sponsored the military appreciation game (and other games) with hundreds of free tickets for military personnel and others who couldn’t afford to attend.
I ran homecoming day activities, helped get players scholarships (including one I paid for myself), and introduced several players to military careers.
Semper Fidelis
The Star Trek shirt is awesome…
So then, there are excuses. It’s not just you brother, there’s about 3 or 4 here who harp on the attendance but don’t show up for games. Just keep a lid on the attendance talk until the season starts, we don’t need to read about it in June.
Agreed
No doubt
“Excuses” are not the same as “reasons”…
I was going to say this, but figured someone would recognize that.
Don’t want to get into my medical problems.
I make do, but I can’t travel.
Believe me when I say there’s nowhere else I’d rather be…
Go Coogs!
There is no publicly reported figure for the total revenue generated by “Luv Ya Blue” merchandise. Regardless, alternate Blue has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in retail sales.
Despite the pushback from old Coogfans posters, it has been a great marketing campaign, which exceeded the school’s previous Big 12 merchandise launch.
UofH has expanded alternate Blue across multiple sports, and views it as one of the most successful branding initiatives in recent school history.
