It’s a Louisiana fried chicken chain, mostly in the Houston area.

The original (I think) was the one right next to UH campus. I’ve been there many times, as well as to other locations.

Love Frenchy’s chicken and sides. I like the dirty rice, red beans and rice and the boudin rolls as sides. I am anxious to try the meat pie.
Their red beans and rice is a SUPER GOOD fast food dish!

The Chicken was old and tasted like it had been sitting out all day. This used to be my go-to place but I stopped for a few months. I decided to give it another try and regret it

When I say fresh and crispy, I mean just that. It was hot , fresh, and finger licking good. Put enough ketchup for me and everything.

Big olé tenders!!! Lol they were really good. Could only eat 2 out of the 5. Fries were good. It was a lot of food for sure

Haven’t seen this acknowledged by any staff or recruiting site.
This is huge, if for no other reason where Newhouse played HS football. Newhouse played at perennial UIL 6A power Austin Westlake.
The last Westlake receiver that committed to UH was Heath McRee in 2025. He ended up decommitting and ended up at San Diego St.
UH establishing a pipeline to Westlake is probably a pipe dream, being in UT’s backyard, but if UH can sign one or two every other year, that is progress.
