Alright Aright Alright

Yeah, but if all they had were video game guns, they couldn’t have killed anyone. Reducing the glorification/normalization of violence is just part of the puzzle.

Nope it’s a deflection, Matthew McConaughey did movies with violence j therefore he has no ground to talk about real world violence. It’s just designed to muddy waters.
Just like"violent video games" there’s no actual connection there at s causal level. It’s like comic books in the 50’s it’s just made up BS designed to distract from actual common denominators.

People play those games all over the world , yet not the same consequences.

Anyone disagree?

So when a 22 yr old commits a crime, then what do we do?

…and millions watch violent movies without ever having committed a violent act.

And millions own guns without killing anyone.

Again when 22 yr old busts up a school what do we do?

Has that been an issue of 22+ year olds shooting up elementary or high schools ?

IF that becomes the norm, you address it.

I love how this wasn’t even a “what if” question. Just expected it will happen some point soon.

Is 4 times a norm? A 25 yr old was arrested today with intention to murder a supreme court justice, shouldc the age be 26?

Way more then 4. Have a read if truly interested.

A 25 yr old was arrested today with intention to murder a supreme court justice, shouldc the age be 26?

intention, but no murder and system worked to prevent it. System worked. But this is about mass murders, that have actually happened and existing system is not working.

By chance, are you age 21 or younger ? How will an age limit for 18-21(25) year olds impact you ?
And do you have school age kids ?

So the stats are all about how you classify shootings and what subset you are working with…

School mass shootings are overwhelmingly perpetrated by the 15-18 male demographic. It’s not even close, so if that is what we are focused on that is the age group society wide/government should focus on in prevention efforts because targeting the biggest number is the best way to bring those numbers down. However the best solution would be determined

That’s a better response; hope jfournet will look
it over.

Ever ask yourself why girls aren’t mass shooters?

Absolutely is a correlative link, and deserves to be looked at more for causality. But other countries consume then just as much if not more and don’t see the same issues of regularity of mass violence, can’t say shootings because most of these places have pretty strict gun regulations preventing those things. But you’d expect more incidents of say mass stabbings and such.

So then what gives? Do they just have a lower percentage of bad people? Are they better at society than we are? Maybe lazier because stabbing takes a lot more work than pulling a trigger?

Have to find a supporting article but I imagine a lot of the same boxes of why historically girls suicide rates have been lower than boys get checked.

The honest answer is no one knows why 98% of mass shooters are males.

Another thing no one knows the answer to is why the vast majority of mass shooters are under the age of 25 is a recent phenomenon (last 25 years). Prior to that the vast majority of mass shooters were males in their 40s (workplace shooters). Back in the day post office employees shot up the place (remember the term going postal).

The honest answer is we don’t know what is going on and I think we are afraid to look. We may not like the answers.

Why do insurance companies consider males under 25 high risk drivers?
