Altitude not Attitude

Fellow Coogs could it be that in the second half our team felt the 4600 ft elevation as the played hard as usual ? I know being from Houston and going to Salt Lake City(4300) to snow ski at Christmas many times, certainly kicked my backside.I just thought I would see what you folks think about this issue.
Go Coogs !

Yes, they had the juice in the fourth quarter

Could be but doesn’t seem too high, right? I dunno. I think Connor was a little dinged up and was playing lame. Good time for the bye week!

We definitely need Conner back healthy.

Why all the secrecy about Overmeyer’s injury. We don’t play another game for 10 days

Maybe they don’t really know and don’t want to speculate.

This is probably some cognitive bias on my part but it seems like every team in this city hides injuries like gold nuggets. The Astros are horrible about it. The Rockets just a bit better. I hear sports media complaining about the Texans doing it. Surely with all the world class medicine in this city you could get some kind of reportable diagnosis…unless we’re just using it as an edge in preparation.

Who has stated that he wasn’t healthy?

I would be shocked it someone did not learn a lesson in Alburquerque and make oxygen available to every member of the FB team.

Altitude DOES have an effect, but losing Overmeyer had as much to do with our struggles as anything. Plus, Weigman looked banged up.

Our revenge is to play Utah at home in early September with a one o clock start time.

…in front of 100s of sweaty people in their seats with alleged thousands on the concourse.

If that gives UH an advantage I am all for it.

Before Oklahoma St, we held teams to 7 or fewer points in the 4th quarter:

Oregon St. 7
Southern: 0
Texas Tech: 7
Georgia So.: 7
UCF: 0
Kansas St. 7
Ok. St: 15
Utah: 14

I think we just played a better team.

Yep let’s melt some Utes !
Go Coogs!

In football, you’re either hurt or injured. If you’re hurt, then you can play. I’m not certain of Conner’s health. Regardless, the QB is often hurt, but he suits up because he’s a captain of the offense. Being out there is a whatever it takes attitude! That’s what a starting QB looks like.

I imagine the stats will show that our offense was very good in those 4th quarters, at least with respect to extending drives and eating clock. Utah probably had more chances on offense than previous teams.

It was reported that he was in a walking boot after the Utah game.

Good point. We should nickname Overmeyer “Oxygen.”
