I thought big bags were not allowed anymore after July…?
Obviously, boosters can then do a real NIL deal for their companies, etc…

I will… I will set that unreasonable expectation…
I also will go to any bowl game we make…
I just hate it when the season is quasi-over after the first game…
Exactly. We win 7 or 8 games and go to a bowl game, that isnt " a year off in rebuild", thats real progress. Its where we want to be.
7, maybe 8 wins.
Shock the Nation!!
Carlisle is behind Zeon and Wijay. Both of those guys would have to get hurt or underperform in order for his redshirt to be burned
Zeon should be on the field playing other positions unless we need a 3rd string QB… Dude is way too explosive to be on the sideline holding up plays…
I’m assuming Zeon is assertive about staying a qb but otherwise I agree he could play a few other positions.
I just want to see progress. There was a little last year. Need more. We lost our tackler on defense, questionable replacement.
Dana The Dud ran this ship into the ground. Willie inherited a cluser$%@&…winning the games we did last year was nothing short of a miracle. He’s a proven program builder and winner…let the man work…he’ll get us there
Amen, just go bowling and I am so happy! Let’s go Coogs!
His first year reminded me of CKS’s first season… he won more games than he should’ve and you could tell from the Xs and Os that we had gotten a great coach…
I just can’t get excitred about the prospect of Zion being our QB. His play last year was way less than inspiring. Carlisle looked better in the spring.
Weigman is the QB… Chriss should realize he needs to be on the field to display his athleticism and versatility.
Maybe they’re carving out a role for him… I sure don’t know…
Rebuild…what are we talking about?
And in the NIL era…the R word doesn’t exist.
People think college football is major league baseball with 5-6 Farm teams full of high draft picks underneath you that the luxury to develop and move up… NO!
College Football is a different animal…there is no such thing as rebuilding.
It’s an illusion and any coach that sells an AD on “rebuilding” is a snake oil salesman to get more years…remenber CDH’s “redshirt the entire team” to build depth scam. How did that work out? Dude couldn’t even “rebuild” to win a G5 conference
In college football, you game plan to win each and every game and you take it from there.
Talent suddenly builds depth automatically on teams that prove they can win.
There is no tomorrow in college football…and especially in the NIL era.
No excuses…go win the games on your schedule.
And before i hear the CKS and how his rebuild worked…Apples and Oranges…
He had to revive a dead program.
CWF, and CDH, literally inherited the most resources/facilities ever provided to a Football Coach at the University of Houston.
Just find a way to win!
Cool story, bro. I ain’t reading all that.
Unless a team can just buy all the talent it needs, it still has to rebuild. It doesn’t matter that we have nice facilities, that just keeps us up with the conference rivals. If it was as easy as you made it out to be, all schools would be winners; but how does that work?
Then why did we spend all that money?
If the NIL money is equal, facilities will be the tiebreaker. Folks can’t forget that
Just game plan to WIN the game in front of you each week, with the talent you have
This BS to constantly plan to be competive 3 years down the road is a loser’s mentality.
To answer your question, teams that don’t have Rebuilding plans…win consistently. Its life or death to them…their coach needs to produce.
This is college football, there is no guarantee anyone on your team, this season, will be on your squad next season anyway.
As long the University of Houston keeps staying in this Rebuilding mode, indefinitely, we will continue to be grouped with the Wake Forest type nothing P4 football programs.
Just find a way to win the freaking game on your schedule that week …and repeat.
Momentum > Rebuilding, when it comes to College Football.
MLB teams are a different model
I believe Fritz going out and getting five OL with P4 starting experience, three Srs and two Jrs and a former starting P4 QB, Jr. means he understands that he needs to get the program moving forward quickly.
