They have been treated much like American natives for decades. It’s acceptance by so many is one of the reasons peace in the region always seems out of reach.

Israeli settlers in the West Bank that killed this Palestinian activist should be prosecuted and thrown in jail. @Coogcheese - this article has some politics to it but can be discussed non-politically.
Anything more I would say would be political and prohibited.
Reopening, without the political discussions. Bring awareness to Anti-Palestenian actions or islamaphobic actions, but stay away from the politics touching on the war.
The big problem is that there are no consensus agreed upon borders for any hypothetical Palestinian State, and no consensus agreed upon Palestinian government (and if said government is Hamas, then don’t act shocked, surprised, or appalled if most decent human beings despise it).
Not even sure how you define a Palestinian. As an ethnic Arab living in the Levant?
Hell, 25% of Israeli citizens fit that definition.
Do Israeli Druze and Bedouins qualify as Palestinians, or as Israelis?
Or as Israeli Palestinians?
After all, aren’t they also ethnic Arabs living in the Levant?
Just asking.
Therein lies the rub.
That’s why it is strange to me when people say that they want to recognize a “Palestinian” state.
What is such a thing? It has no agreed upon borders, or government.
It’s almost tantamount to a recognition of nothing.
Every country that’s calling for a Palestine state or at the very least, recognizing one knows that it’s impossible.
They benefit from the USA-Israel relationship, they just can’t say it out loud because they know Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
At the end of the day, the only way this conflict ends 2 ways:
The complete genocide of the Palestinian population
The end of capitalism
It’s literally the exact same as countries calling for support in battling climate change, yet the only way to do that in the timeframe needed would be to denounce capitalism (the free market), and none of those very same countries would ever do that
Sure, but it’s a tad more complex than just cheap oil.
A liberated Palestine could lend to an internal invasion of Israel. A liberated Palestine is the ability for Palestine to have an autonomous economy and military - we all know what this could lead to.
If Israel is threatened internally, then you’re looking at complete destabilization of the middle east - which yes, could like to destabilized oil prices.
That being said, the USA has already tried opening up more of the MIddle East to free markets (invasion of Iraq). That obviously failed.
The easiest solution would be for the globe to transition away from fossil fuels and into a renewable energy, self sufficient-based energy economy,
