Antisemitism can't be ignored

Not going to argue about it.

Understand. Just listening.

This brings us back to question of can you legitimately criticize the government of
Israel without being put in Canary Mission database as being antisemitic ?

Is it always okay, or best, to fight fire with fire ?

I’ll just sit back and listen to others responses on this aspect of antisemitism and
the Jewish response to antisemitism.

Preamble:
Just dumping personal thoughts here. No attacks, flags or suspensions please!

I wouldn’t expect anyone who is not of Italian decent to feel as horrified as I do about what happened in New Orleans in 1891.

I don’t expect anyone who isn’t African American to feel as horrified about what happened in Tulsa in 1921.

And the list goes on

Irish, Poles, Native Americans, Mexicans, et al.

Same for Jewish people and the holocaust.

What sets them apart though is:

  1. an entire race of people was to be completely eradicated! Read that again. That was the goal.
  2. Even with pictures, eye witnesses, moving pictures, documents, survivors and complete overt admission by the accomplices, there are those who deny it ever happened. :rage: With so many fn deniers, is any wonder that Jews are worried it can happen again!!??!!?? Lots of things are happening that I never thought would happen in this country and I better stop there.

While all forms of racism is immoral and inhuman, there is nothing quite as evil that compares to trying to completely eliminate an entire group of based solely on religious belief.

Now, to my point, just speaking for myself, I can be against Israeli settlements in the West Bank, against everything going on in Gaza, believe Netanyahu is a war criminal and believe the United States should be more proactive in the establishing and recognizing an independent State of Palestine, by whatever means,
(International recognition of Palestine - Wikipedia), but that doesn’t make me antisemitic.

I may be naive, but I firmly believe that those who protest for the rights of Palestinians, are too often seen as antisemitic. I’m not talking about people who call for the destruction of Israel and/or holocaust deniers. There is a difference. And I’ll stop there.

I don’t know, and I don’t plan on spending time to go through their database to figure that out. Generally speaking, I don’t necessarily share stuff from Canary Mission. I just happened to use it this time, though this particular case was clearly not people criticizing Israel.

Agreed.

Here’s the problem, all too often those protests involve a lot of people calling for the destruction of Israel, using Holocaust inversion, or calling for intifada, using slogans “from the river to the sea”, etc. Those good people who are just protesting for Palestenian rights, stay silent and continue to protest along side those who are calling for destruction of Israel. That makes them complicit.

There is a lot more I could criticize here, but it goes way beyond the point of this thread. Of course, this part of the discussion comes closer to politics that I’ve tried to avoid. Hopefully we can avoid it, and don’t need 50 posts on where we draw the line between legitimate criticism of Israel and antisemitism.

Going to send you a PM so as to keep others from hijacking. Appreciate the feedback.

Candidate for Governor of California

Gross human and also total grifter. Hope he gets what’s coming to him, which is a miracle combination of lightning strike and cancer.

He’s running as a republican - I’m shocked why the republican party is letting him run as a candidate!

Anyone can run as any party they like. It’s a matter of who the establishment supports. This guy will never get elected to any office in California. It’s white nationalist/nazzy punk trolling.

Let’s end the partisan discussion here. It was only relevant to show he is running for political office and clearly antisemitic.
