At the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket, Ont., a judge sentenced Akbari to 60 days of house arrest, three years of probation, a 10-year weapons prohibition and mandatory antisemitism education and counselling for gambling addiction. He was also ordered not to go near any Jewish institution or community event.
Certainly not condoning what he said, but justice has to fit the crime. It’s like
if you say your “going to burn down every office” of some organization you despise
or actually showing up at an office in a flame retardant suit and carrying a flame
thrower. In that case you should probably be arrested and sent to facility for
psych evaluation.

have the right to say it. The Canada case seems to have been handled correctly from a justice perspective from the facts in that case imho. There are more egregious antisemitic actions that deserve attention, condemnation, and imprisonment. This is not a great example for putting the idiot in prison, but just
my opinion.
Because he got in an argument about the Palestinian conflict at a car dealership. This wasn’t a guy posting his terrorist plot
