Antisemitism can't be ignored

That’s only for religious based hate crimes. Or another way of saying it,
17% of all hate crimes are against Jewish people. I’d guess the other
30% of religious based hate crimes would be mostly against Muslims or black Christians in
this country

And of course the 80% of hate crimes are directed at others.

It’s all about point of view.

Seems they would be tied for 2nd with anti-muslim hate from that article dataset.

1,217 Jewish
200 Muslim
198 Sikh
29 Hindu

Hate crimes ( taking action) agsinst any group
are vile.

I think that’s one thing everyone here can agree on.

Oh I think you should be prepared to be disappointed

Its amazing to me that someone who picked UH to attend, could have such hate

In what way? I think I might be making missing something.

That we should all be able to agree that taking violent action against anyone based on their race, religion, etc. is vile

Should that be pretty unanimous? Yes. Will it be? No I’m fact I predict disappointing levels of disagreement.

Yea ok. That’s disappointing and probably why we can’t have nice things like living in peace.

Unfortunately, I think there’s big overlap with those that don’t mind everlasting war.

Also unfortunately too many don’t get the messages that all we are saying is:

I don’t believe there’s anyone here who falls into that category either. Maybe I’m just too optimistic.

Actions are a better indicator than words, generally speaking.

Someome keeps telling us, its too our benefit

That’s what I mean by “generally speaking”.

On a somewhat related topic, one of my favorite miliary historians (I have a Master’s degree in that subject) Cornell’s Barry Strauss, has just released a history of the Jewish revolts against Roman Rule.

In the past, Strauss has published on other Roman Wars, and the Trojan War.

Quote: “Historian Strauss hits another home run with this thorough account of the tumultuous relations between Rome and its most contentious subjects, the Jews, in ancient times. . . . There is no better history of this important but little-known subject.”

I messaged you a response. Your post was off topic here anyways but you knew that.

As stated in the article, seems like a discrimination case, and officials
seem to be taking it seriously. No idea how France processes these allegations
or what the fine would be if guilty. Perhaps the public condemnation is sufficient
and the public can boycott that recreational business.

Now on the other side of the ocean, there is a certain segment of the population
that thinks black Americans are always “overplaying the discrimination card” in
matters.

From this thread, I think most Jews believe they are now seeing increased discrimination. With the war in Gaza, and almost daily pictures of Palestinian children starving, that is probably driving much of the new anti-Jewish reactions plus the long standing anti-Jewish groups that have always hated Jews.

I’d be curious if transgender, lgbtq, women, black and hispanic Americans also sense an increase in discrimination.

Oddly enough, recent Pew study draws this conclusion.

Americans are also less likely to say Muslims and Jews face discrimination than a year ago. The shares saying Muslims (34%) and Jews (30%) experience a lot of discrimination are down 10 points from early last year.
