AP Poll

LSU big jump to number 3. Looks like ut remains in the top 10. aggy at 19. I figured Bama would still be ranked.

If we can manage to win the next 3 games, I think networks will want UH vs Tech to be a ranked vs ranked game

Colorado losing to Georgia Tech did not help us though

Only ranked matchup this week is Michigan @ OU.

ULM beating Bama again would be really funny.

Utah snuck in and FSU catapulted their way up to #14. About what you’d expect. ACC off to a really strong start this year. Glad TCU evened the score with them after Colorado choked.

Utah earned it with a convincing thrashing of UCLA.

Feels like OU has become an afterthought. I haven’t seen one mention of them in media outside of an ad for this game.

Funny how Utah got #25 in the AP, BYU just outside receiving votes at #26. Go to the coaches poll, BYU is #25 and Utah is just outside receiving votes at #26.

Lots of overrated teams overrated between 3-11. LSU, Clemson, Notre Dame, South Carolina, and Illinois are overrated. Clemson, Carolina, and Illinois were overhyped coming into the year. NDs QB looked rough, and LSU is getting way too much credit for beating an overrated Clemson team with an overrated QB. I dont think Brian Kelly is capable of coaching an elite team…the guy has always been missing something.

I see a lot of teams below 15 that look dangerous and are severely underhyped

That was bound to happen with them leaving for the SEC. They were the top dog in the Big 12 most years; they’re nothing but an also-ran in the SEC.

SFA moved up a spot after their loss to us. Not sure what that means but thought it was interesting.

Yes it is!

How did Florida International get a vote in the coaches’ poll? Did someone think they were the team that beat Boise State instead of USF?

CU did not choke. Ga Tech is a good team. People are sleeping on them because they are a STEM school, but I watched that whole game and watched the Clemson-LSU game. Calling it now, GA Tech will beat Clemson. GA Tech’s line is much bigger than Clemson’s. Dabo has lost his mojo and is simply not willing or not able to compete in the NIL era. A lot of these good ole boy coaches can’t, and that is why you are seeing a lot of SEC teams looking outside of that for their new coaches. They want people who can fund raise from someone other than alum. Why? Because SEC schools don’t have the wealthy alumni base of the BIG or even the ACC. Yes you have Texas, OU, Vanderbilt and TAMU, but three of those schools have oil money. Tennessee got some big donors as does Auburn, but the others, not so much. Even UGA has struggled, which kind of shocked me. They are lucky that they are 30 minutes from Atlanta and can lean on that corporate base for NIL opportunities.

So losing to us a quality loss.

People tried to say the same thing last year when FSU choked to GT. They got hyped up for like 2 weeks and then ended up just being a mid level ACC team. Which is what they are year in and year out. We need our teams beating ACC teams. So I’m gonna call it choke any time one of our teams loses to one of theirs, especially when it’s at home.

I’ll take your Clemson bet though. Don’t see them scoring much on Clemsons defense.

I don’t know what it is, but something about Clemson the last couple of years fails the vibe check. I also think GT is being substantially underrated, and will beat them.

Clemson doesn’t get the recruits anymore, mainly because Dabo is too full of himself and his coaching abilities (which have always been overrated). Now, he isn’t even getting the recruits he used to get. I mean, everyone got so excited about Klubnik and to be frank, he looks about Mid at best. They don’t have any skill positions players on the level of Hopkins or Watkins anymore.
South Cackalacky is killing them in recruiting within SC the last few years, because unlike Dabo, their program has embraced the transfer portal and NIL.

If UH starts the season 4-0 heading in to Texas Tech, l believe UH will be ranked in the AP Top 25.

The last time UH Football was ranked in the AP Top 25 was 10/31/21, at #20, after UH defeated #19 SMU 44-37.

It was a “quality loss”

A new concept developed by the SEC

Didn’t we finish ranked #17 in 2021 and ranked the 1st 2 weeks of 2022?
