Art Briles Just Resigned From

Mt. Vernon High School.

Is probably a new College Head Coach.

Either at Liberty or Texas Tech.

If Hugh Freeze gets the Red Raiders job then Art is going to Liberty.

Raiderpower says Wells is staying but the OC is gone. Make of that what you will.

The A.D. who hired Art at Baylor is at Liberty.

But O.C. at Texas Tech makes a lot of sense.

How many scandals did MT Vernon have? Just the one?

Hugh Freeze might get the Auburn job.

The review by the Atlanta-based Alston & Bird law firm’s report, a copy of which KWTX obtained Thursday, makes several points it identifies as important:

*”No findings were ever made as to what Briles did or did not do.”

*Baylor never made a determination whether “Briles violated any then-applicable Baylor University policies, procedures, and/or instructions concerning the handling of sexual assault, domestic, violence, dating violence or stalking.”

*Baylor “does not believe that Briles violated an institutional policy or directive at that time.”

*”Baylor does not contend that Briles concealed information from law enforcement.”

*Baylor is not aware that Briles ‘concealed’ information
'from officials of Baylor University who should have, according to Baylor policy, been notified by Briles.’ ”

No reason to rehash this or bring it up. No one’s mind will be changed.

So I guess in the eyes of the public, he’s served his sentence, off probation and is ready to return to the real world (D1 Football).

Please, please, never associate Art Briles with the world’s greatest band, RHCP.

Did a little research to see if it was real
could find no evidence to refute it. I’m either a sucker for great photoshop or it’s real. I’ll update if I find it’s a phony.

Ah ha! So now the truth is finally starting to come out.

Turns out that Baylor does not have (and never has had) any evidence or reason to believe that Art Briles didn’t follow their institutional policies and protocols or that he ever in fact did anything wrong. Can you imagine that!

So Baylor’s obstruction of the investigation by using Art Briles as a “scapegoat” with their payment to him to keep silent now appears to have worked out well for them as it has saved Baylor with respect to any institutional accountability within the NCAA, the Big 12, the affected students, and in the court of public opinion. Baylor has pulled off the ultimate CYA at least partially by using Art as a scapegoat.

Don’t think you meant to respond to me.

Did anyone ask Mount Vernon HS if Art sent a text before he gassed up his vehicle and hauled ass out of town? “Nothing has changed, still a Mount Vernon Tiger!” Maybe in a few years, Art will go back to Mount Vernon for a football game, he will wear black shorts and a black workout shirt, a giddy fan will take a picture, and 'ol Art will flash the Mount Vernon Tiger paw and say, “Still a Tiger!” Sound familiar?

One more from Art, “Put that $%&T on paper!” Art is all about Art.

Sorry Randy - that’s correct.

Just lump Briles in with Sumlin and Herman - they all have different packages but all had issues in the way they left the program in my book.

Also, Briles’ alma mater is Texas Tech. He played at UH but went to TTU where he graduated. He was the best offensive mind to come to UH since Jenkins but unfortunately he could never get the discipline, special teams or defense to the level that UH needed. He left the program in better shape when he left but set UH for failure against TCU in the bowl game when he left and took a star QB recruit with him so for that I am disappointed but no more disappointed in him as I am in Sumlin and Herman.
