Art Briles Just Resigned From

Of course, the people funding the report were big pro-briles guys, but I’m sure the investigation was truly independent.

Of course the firm Baylor hired had no bias and would never try to cover for BU. I have never seen any proof that Briles did not follow the BU protocols. What would you expect him to do? He did not witness the alleged rapes (some were dismissed, hence alleged) so what should he have done, call the cops and say I’ve heard there have been rapes? Hearsay is always welcome in court, right? So, we don’t know anything except accusations of knowledge that he had heard something had happened.

I think Briles has paid a high price in loss of reputation, for something he has only been accused of, and it’s time for someone to provide proof that would stand up in court, or shut up. Meanwhile, if the guy is hired by TT, then good for him. It’s time to move on.

starts at the top, no way he didn’t know what was going on in his program…maybe he just looked the other way once he knew something was going, just ignore the problem as long as possible…does he deserve a second chance? i dont know, thats up to society…personally, i think he’s a POS, although i appreciate what he did to our dead FB program…dont care if he goes to TT, he probably fits in nicely

Wish I’d read this before writing my reply. Sigh.

Art ‘Flea’ Briles.

Speaking of stuff from court…how 'bout this?

Reading that article reminded me exactly how thorough the housecleaning at Baylor was. If they were trying to “scapegoat” Briles to save themselves, they sure didn’t do a very good job of it.

It’s gonna be hilarious if he’s just taking a job at a 4A or 5A school instead.

This thread is getting very close to getting closed. And it’s not because of any concern for Briles.

This is a community. This is not the comment section of some major news site. Please be respectful and kind to each other. The insults of each other, the flippant responses to each other, and the political talking points from your favorite opinion network (of all political leanings) are not welcomed here.

Thank you.

Because a lot of people like to pretend the stuff detailed in that article didn’t happen.

Man, I didn’t know Johnny Winter was now coaching football.

Hugh Freeze ain’t going to Lubbock. Art Briles? Perhaps.

I’m pretty sure Freeze is looking at Auburn. But the irony would not be lost on me if Liberty made Tech watch as they went and took what they wanted in Art Briles. Didn’t think they’d be into being on that side.

So, Baylor persecuted Art Briles when the guy did nothing wrong or at least there was no evidence of wrong doing on his part. There’s a lot of that going around.

The state of Texas is Art’s recruiting grounds, so TTU makes sense. Art has his degree from TTU.

Also it places him in the HC replacement role should it not work out with Matt Wells.

Then again, the challenge of raising the football profile of a private Christian school in Virginia may be attractive to him and it would serve as a form of redemption for the Baylor scandal.

Liberty is 9-1. They beat Syracuse & Virginia Tech. They lost to NC St by a point.

If we could get over our ego we would hire Briles.

In other words, if YOU could rehire Briles, YOU would…but you can’t, because you are not the University of Houston, and YOU, most certainly sir, are not “we”. Thanks.
