Mathews started out slow like many guys do when the start their professional career after a long college season….but he has started to heat up.
3 AAA pitchers in Top 10 now.
Dezenzo now # 5.
Single A looks good.

I really like Dezenzo and Loperfido……I think Will Wagner has a shot to be good on the big team.
It’s guys like these that keep extending the Astros window….
Peña, Chas, Yainer, France, Brown, etc.

At this point, it seems like he’s just a resource drain. Time spent on him takes away from real prospects.
I’m sure it’s a case of nobody wanting to be the guy to pull the plug on the off chance that he becomes a contributor somewhere else.

Andrew Taylor, who we drafted in a supplemental round in the 2nd last year had a nice outing.
4 and 1/3 IP , gave up one run with 11 K’s.
Thought it was worth mentioning.
Also, still just 21 years old.

Whitcomb won the Bauman award for most home runs in the minor leagues this year.
Still too much swing and miss but if he can cut down just a bit it can play.

If they trade some MLB players this season = go for high ceiling AA, A prospects in return.
Astros farm system is ass for the first time in like a decade+.
