Y’all leave that man alone… Probably spent many a night developing defensive schemes, doing delivery pizza for sustenance .
And this is before he’s even made anyone mad. ![]()
It’s exactly what happens….unless you have a wife to make you a good dinner and bring up to the school for you then unfortunately fast food is your intake most nights.
It’s not?
So Fritz hired this guy, the same Fritz that hired Barbay and let him take UH to the rock bottom? I’ll hold judgment till we win some games. Until then, I’ll be skeptical.
Fritz didn’t want Barbay. He wanted Nagle, but Nagle thought he was going to get a HC gig out of Tulane.
We needed an OC at the last minute and got who was available, Barbay
Look at all the guys that went to Florida with great expectations. That place is the freakin “Exorcist” house of college football. We can only hope it has broken the kid.
Fritz hired Barbary, the buck stops with Fritz. End of story.
The man just brought us the #4 QB in the portal (& former 5 star recruit) who’s mere commitment just landed us an entire starting offensive line, in addition to TWO starting WRs; And he did it in less than a week’s time.
Yet, here you are being a pessimist about an 11th hour OC hire last year & a sitting SEC defensive coordinator hire this year. CWF is clearly doing something right & he deserves the benefit of the doubt. There were “seemingly” better options out there (unlike during the time of Barbay’s hire), but CWF specifically chose Armstrong.
They call him “Baby Kirby” for a reason. Do you understand just how respected you have to be in coaching circles to be hired as an SEC Defensive Coordinator at just 30 years old? We gotta trust CWF on this one. This isnt another Barbay situation.
Well said. Fritz didnt make this hire at the last minute. Under Willie’s tutelage, Armstrong is going to do just fine. Fritz has a plan.
How do you know? Did you know how Barbay was going to be last year? Doubtful. This wasn’t last minute? fritz was hired Dec 3 last year, our DC left us Dec 3 this year, its the same time frame.
Barbay was hired mid January last season after the 1st portal window was closed. Armstrong is already helping recruiting here in December with 2 weeks before portal closes.
Am officially withholding any judgement until at least after the first game.
Fool me once. Shame on you.
Fool me twice. Shame on me…
Deer lowered Coogfans. Fat jokes? WTF is wrong with you people? Yes, everyone should base their thoughts and actions based on a random idiot who refers to his coach as porky pig. Grow up and stop embarrassing us. This guy just took a job here, and this thread is a freaking embarrassment.
Baby Huey! I don’t care what he looks like…just let him work !
Go Coogs !
Big difference. One is the HC, one is the DC. The HC sets the tone for the team. We were in disarray last year. This year, we have a plan. We’ve already been shopping at the transfer portal store, while the shelves were still stocked, as opposed to last year where all the big ticket items were already gone.
The HC sets the tone for the team.
The guy let his chosen OC take UH to the bottom of the offensive rankings, and didn’t do a thing about it till the last game of the season. Set the tone?
Ok, fine. at what point in the season would you have fired him?
After 3 games, we were 1-2, but just hung 33 on Rice.
Back to back shutouts. Maybe. Cincinnati, bad. ISU? A ranked team.
Beat TCU. D couldn’t stop anything Kansas did.
Beat Utah, Beat Kansas State. Not the greatest show on turf, but 4-5.
Lost the last 3, fired Barbay after the second loss.
Barbay was not not his first choice. He thought his OC from Tulane was coming with him.
.
Nobody wants to take a job with someone who has a quick trigger.
Be Pollyanna all you want, I’ll wait till we win some games, hopefully next year because every year we “rebuild” we are getting left behind further and further.
UH shouldn’t be on a 5 year plan, we should be on a 5 minute plan.

We fire coaches that go 8-4.
