UH-Cincinnati was the 27th most-watched game last week. Thanks, Dana. A whopping 176,000 viewers. Even Eastern Michigan-Toledo and Ohio-Buffalo had more. Embarrassing.
Two bottom dweller teams playing bad football. I fell asleep five times during just the first half. Not surprised at all.
Rice-UTSA had 22,000 viewers…on TV!!! That’s incredibly bad. That’s a 0.01 rating.
Context my friend. Can’t compare a Tuesday/Wednesday game to a Saturday game. But it is bad despite the comparison…
Don’t suck, then you won’t have bad ratings.
Bad coach, bad ratings.
The University of Houston landing a Power invitation is going to go down as one of the biggest con jobs in the history of college sports UNLESS we turn this thing around…and soon!
I’d have to pay some of my fellow UH classmates to attend football games and even then…they wouldn’t go!
NOBODY CARES!!
This is a CULTURE problem.
We are a HUGE school of 50,000 students and can’t fill up TDECU or get anyone to be interested in the football program…when have they ever cared. I few stints of “parts of seasons” here and there?
Texas has WAY TOO MANY D1 Football programs and the number of P5/P4 programs is EMBARRASSING and UH is part of the problem
The current coach has sucked all the energy out of our football program.
I don’t know if the AAC tv deal is still locked in after all the program losses, but that thing will be almost worthless the next contract. All year they have had really bad ratings, even on good channels.
A & M ratings looked low too. Was more surprised by that than our numbers.
Mr 27, I have a Rutgers waiting on line 2, says he has a New York that he can deliver whenever you would like it.
nah…Rutgers is THE University OF New Jersey in all but name.
That’s the only P5/P4 program in the entire state of New Jersey…they should have a school in a P5
Texas does not deserve SEVEN Power programs!!
Texas
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Baylor
TCU
Houston
SMU
Florida has FOUR
California has FOUR
North Carolina has FOUR
Texas has SEVEN!
yeah ATM barely had double us - that is pretty surprising. In fairness to us, in the same window of the UH game were games featuring, OU, UT, Ohio State, Georgia, and ATM - most of which were on network. There was just no way we’d do a decent number unless UH was 8-1 and Cincy 9-0 or something.
But but we have 6 million people in Houston market, supposedly a huge draw cause we are in Houston blah blah, most people in Houston could care less and that is disturbing
Y’all see how UH tries to buzz up in Houston? It’s bad.
Take a look at Fertitta for the first three games. #6 in the nation, there are more students in that arena than fans. It was eerily quiet yesterday.
I predict Dana or Pez gone soon lol.
UH has proven that it can draw game attendees and TV viewing from past years. HOWEVER, UH HAS to win and win with innovation. In the past, it was the excitement of the offense putting up lots and lots of TD’s and passing yards. It was fun to watch.
The current coach has killed excitement faster than either Levine or Apple
Fine then lets just close the AD then. Sorry 7 is too much, 3 of us must drop because no one else has 7. Come on SMU and Baylor. We are over the line of other states so we must fold.
Did you see our attendance last night to WATCH the 6th ranked basketball team in the nation or perhaps, our football attendance on Saturday…or the TV ratings…all as a Power 5 Athletic Department?
I hate to say it…but it looks like we have already quit on the Athletic Department on our own.
I was there. It was horrible. Horrible, horrible, horrible. I feel so bad for the Marketing and GameDay guys that are TRYING to get students and everyone out there.
Single Game tickets aren’t a thing this year as far as I know, maybe standing room only as a stretch, but they don’t want to offer it.
A&M behind UNT vs SMU.
We were better than Baylor vs KSU on the plus.
Up against UT, TCU, OU and A&M in our time slot.
Now you’re talking like a sane, sober citizen.
