Bad press because of attendance

The people on this board on not the problem.

Tough to grow a fan base when a large portion of our students come from countries that play cricket and soccer.

UH lifts the flag about having the 2nd most diverse student body after NYU. But how many sports national titles does nyu have over the last 75 years.

Throw in that many of the students wanted to go elsewhere but could not afford to live away from home, and we get a fanbase of 20,000 faithful.

You would need s concert headliner to fill out the rest of the stadium it we are not 8-0 playing a Top 5 brand name team from the South while trying to win a spot in the conference championship game.

While I love the Big XII money and getting back some local rivals, the quality of the conference is not better than some of the years we were in the American or CUSA 1.0.

ESPN is stacking g the blue bloods, destroying the PAC, BIG XII, and waiting a couple years to rip out the top 4 teams from the ACC.

Without FSU, MIAMI, CLEMSON, UNC, the ACC is the PAC, MWC.

One ESPN has all the teams it wants, then they will go through a ā€œfat-trimmingā€ excercise to get rid of the Vanderbilts, the Northwesterns, the Illinois, the Indianas, and every other team that leaches off the blue bloods. And it might work.

What ESPN forgets is that most people like to see the little guy overcome the odds to knock an Ohio State out of the playoff picture. ESPN WANTS that is someone knocks out Ohio State, that it is a Penn State…not Indiana. ( Indiana, as far as I can see gets no love, and maybe one national commercial where they are kind of the feature).

So don’t worry about attendance too much, if you are not a blue blood, you are going to eventually get excluded.

Sorry, that was way too long…kinda turned into a rant.

These 11am starts have been brutal for me. I have a daughter who runs cross country and they don’t run until 10 am on Saturdays. Thank goodness the season ended yesterday, and I can attend a 11 am game if we have one again. 11am sucks for people who have kids in cross country.

It’s live. Flubs happen. I just think y’all are way too critical over something so minor…

Just my opinion but I preferred Chinedu - he was more natural at his delivery and added humor. Not sure why we went away from him as the in game host.

Chinedu played with food.

This is how much identifiable additional football + basketball postseason revenue each school has earned for the Big 12 since UH joined. Maybe maybe a better league concern is what is wrong with the true bottom feeders?

For the ones complaining about the heat, you had all summer to prepare for it.

I’m sure you have kids in little league that play games during the heat.

Spend a few hours outside or drive with the windows down to condition yourself.

Houston is in a tough spot for attendance issues. Not many students live on campus and the number has only gotten as big as it is in the last 10 years.

I considered adding demographics to this list too because not every culture places emphasis on attending football games. I’m a first generation American and my parents could care less about extracurriculars. But I take my daughter to the games now and she loves it.

Also, other teams worst attended games this year.

She works as a host. How is she so bad? It is baffling.

At least Chinedu will be back for basketball.

She was doing World Cup games this past summer but there isn’t much downtime compared to football.

Imagining our fans conditioning for attending games.
