Big 12 Adds Peacock Mens Hoops Package

Seems like Yormark is adding more money to the Big 12.

Financial details of the multiyear partnership were not immediately available, and an official announcement is expected today.

The deal is of particular significance as it now means the Big 12 will see its product broadcast by each of the five major networks in the college sports space – Fox, ESPN, NBC, CBS and TNT. The internal hope with the strategy is those media partners working with the conference be exposed to the Big 12’s potential value ahead of the expiration of its current broader media rights deal with ESPN and Fox Sports that runs through 2031.

Is that one shareable

This is definitely great for the long term financial play for the Big 12. It gives us an “auditon” so to speak for all networks once we negotiate our TV deals. This can give us leverage to sell our sports all together or sell our basketball by itself.

For us dinosaurs that still have Xfinity, Peacock is included as part of the subscription.

the plan is screw the fans, make them pay up the nose to follow their teams.

I will say, the B1G games on Peacock look amazing. Obviously better than espn+ and even ESPN1 or 2

i think the goal is fractioned deals not unified service. The days of getting all your games with one service are gone. much more lucrative for leagues to split off games for an extra buck.

The good news is only premium conferences will be able to do this. And the B12 is definitely a premium conference.

$10.99 a month w ads.
$16.99 ad free.
A year subscr gets 2 months free.
They do have deals on a regular basis.

On TV that was watching ESPN+.
Most AAC was there.

Great…another streaming app

Ah, the days in the AAC when ALL of our football and basketball games were on TV

When was that? lol

AAC had a TV deal with ESPN.

They aired all of our conference football games and our conference basketball games…we played on the non-P5 days.

I still prefer the Big 12 but it was MUCH easier to follow the Coogs with the AAC TV deal.

Now we are talking about a Peacock App?

Yeah.

I get Peacock free as a part of my Xfinity Cable package.

Anything that gets the conference more TV revenues is good.

I have the App on my Apple TV box.

Lots of good movies and shows.

Some good sports.

Adding the Big 12 basketball games will be cool.

Peacock usually advertises some pretty good deals. I bought a full year back in February for $30.

Christmas they had a sale like 20 bucks for the year.

It’s ok. My family has watched The Office reruns; and a race type show Destination X.

If I’m having to pay monthly, I’ll turn it off and on at the same time to watch a game I want.
