Seems like Yormark is adding more money to the Big 12.
Financial details of the multiyear partnership were not immediately available, and an official announcement is expected today.
The deal is of particular significance as it now means the Big 12 will see its product broadcast by each of the five major networks in the college sports space – Fox, ESPN, NBC, CBS and TNT. The internal hope with the strategy is those media partners working with the conference be exposed to the Big 12’s potential value ahead of the expiration of its current broader media rights deal with ESPN and Fox Sports that runs through 2031.
This is definitely great for the long term financial play for the Big 12. It gives us an “auditon” so to speak for all networks once we negotiate our TV deals. This can give us leverage to sell our sports all together or sell our basketball by itself.
i think the goal is fractioned deals not unified service. The days of getting all your games with one service are gone. much more lucrative for leagues to split off games for an extra buck.
