Never watched the game and knew what was eventually going to happen. It was comical for me reading all the comments above. And I’m right with all the ones that can’t believe Whitting is still here and PRAYING for a head coaching change. I emailed Eddie I would start going back to games once he fires Todd.

I would be concerned if this is some sort of done deal already. I would hope the AD would conduct a national search and hire the best coach available for our program and not just do a down the hall hire. Previous such hires have proven disastrous; Applewhite, Levine, Brooks, Vesely.

At this point id hire the UT lady basketball coach, and hed probably so a good job. He did an interview with the astros radio booth last year and talked about coaching baseball and how he got his dream job at UT coaching softball

There is no job opening right now. If nothing is announced today before the long holiday weekend, odds of a coaching search go way down.
A new coach would need to be hired and started by first week of July. Starting now thats 4ish weeks to find the guy.
I don’t think Memorial Day is particularly important to the AD’s timetable, if he has one. The coaches and team may not even get back into town in time for anything like that today.
If something happened today, it more likely means he already has someone ready to hire.
