Big 12 Basketball 2026-27

I’ll have to see East play before I can agree that he’ll be in line to start at PF next year.

I just haven’t seen anything from him to know anything yet…

I’m heard from reliable sources that East is the most skilled big on the team but needs development in the “confidence” area. This year will be great for him, even just practicing with these guys

Wow. Just breaking the prestigious Winthrop-Puma caerulea AI prediction model says lock BYU as a top 3 Big XII team.

The model locks BYU in the top 3 with or without Kohler.

Also predicts Rob Wright III averaging 26.3 per game and 7.1 assists. He is predicted to win Player of the Year.

Tyler Betsy predicted to be a top 5 3 point shooter in the conference. Wow. None of us have been talking about him.

Kadin Mboup is greatly improved and is 6th man of the year when modeled with Kohler on the team. I guess I can see that. Super athletic but raw last year…

Collin Chandler and Bruce Branch break out as stars.

Wow. And all from a top AI model. This is big for BYU. It’s proprietary but I know something about it works if anyone questions these results.

I need to see it to believe it… not saying he can’t be but just a huge unknown…

Trust me, not your eyes haha. But yea I get it. Time will tell. I suspect you’ll see a lot of development in him from day 1 this season to day 1 next season. I’ll tell you he’s more skilled today, than J’Wan was his final season. Not saying he’s a better player, strictly talking post skills

I can believe it. If the coaches are already saying its going to be a 4 man rotation and referring to the 2022 team, then he’s going to play and contribute THIS season at some point.

Jwans biggest skill was being a warrior. He could roll an ankle sit for a minute and come back in and play his heart out. Dude had a motor.

We’ll see…

i easily believe he is the most skilled but that wasnt the issue with him…

he is 6’9 245lbs playing in one of the worst mid major conferences … and most of his highlights are shooting and driving …he doesnt have bully or toughness in his game.

he is the developmental opposite of every other big on the roster… everyone else is tough bigs who are struggling with the skill part… he has the skill part but doesnt have the dog/bully in him

Nobody will play along? Fine.

Some people say I’m intelligent but it’s based on faking it till you make it, or bluffing, so it’s artificial intelligence. Yes made up to setup this underwhelming dad joke.

He has a strong post game though

Interesting take. He was a top 4 rebounder in the country with an average of 11.3 boards a game. He also scored over 17 ppg, mainly down low. How does a guy with those stats lack toughness? Seems he was bullying those MAC conference players to me.

wrong big, we are talking about braden east, not delrocco

Ah, got it. My bad.

offensively no he doesnt… atleast not yet

a great post game is the ability to physically bully/shift player to gain position…

for being 6’9 245lbs…there is very few clips of him trying to post up … of the few clips of him trying , he doesnt move the post player at all, then just settles for a long hook or mid range.
these are with player he has size advantages over

some clips of him

highlight from his best game (33pts vs sfa)

notice how he mostly shot his was to the 33

if he was legit post player with his size in the southland conference, he would be doing more than 12pts a game
with how skilled he is, as a shooter and decent driver, at 245lbs if he had a legit post game he would be doing like 20pts in that league… hell he would be putting up 20-ish in the aac/mwc level leagues too … context jwan was 6’7 230… he is 6’9 245lbs …
