Not sure about KState, but Campbell spoke to this on Monday. He said they are going good on good this week and the first part of next week in order to sort themselves out.

He expects to start prepping for KState the later half of next week. So like the 13th or 14th it sounds like.

The caveat being you never know whether this is the truth or gamemanship on his part. IME, it’s probably the latter and there’s probably some ulterior motive for him to answer this question forthcomingly that I’m unaware of lol.

We do, but it’s more of a seat filler technique than something you want to rely on. I wouldn’t say we hold any back, it’s used more as a technique to mitigate expected lower demand and spread that around ahead of time at a better price point for ISU IMO.

So would it be used in a “we know Kansas is going to bring the home fans out, but nobody cares about byu so let’s bundle them to fill up the stadium.”?

Correct. The examples would change tho lol. And It’s usually a 3 game pack

Yeah, I just figured using those two schools wouldn’t offend anyone haha

Yeah in general ISU isn’t going to go out of its way to do the fan any favors.

From my pov its not really a flex. Our regular every day fan support is our best $$$ resource, so it will be milked. It’s unfortunate for the regular Joe’s pocketbook, but it is what it is.

Our media market dollars are modest. We dont have the big whale donors. So the highly motivated Average Joe is always the one who is going to foot the bill. It’s a delicate balance and I don’t envy the ADs position, it just kinda sucks it has to be like that.

In today’s world they have to try and get dollars

If i remember correctly, TCU is kind of notorious for bundling ticket sales tho. @EndlessPurple would know better than I.

They also try to block away fans.

Which isnt a problem until you have some rich TTU aholes who just pay it and leave their seats empty at your other games they paid for lol

They’d resell them if you’d let them haha

Oh dang i didn’t know anyone did that!

Utah has a bye before they play ASU and then BYU. I bet they ignore ASU during that bye to prepare for byu

Now that you mention it, since CMC owns KState now (5 of last 7) maybe he would rather skip prepping for the gimme so we can get a head start on a better team that will present more of a challenge
the South Dakota Coyotes!
:wink::wink::wink::wink::wink:

Also, I’m shocked Utah prepares for any Big 12 team at all since they’re just going to waltz thru our conference undefeated every year
as we were told!

Maybe that was their problem

Last year I cheered against Iowa state one time. I cheered for k state in hopes byu would make the championship game and K state sucked. Couldn’t do anything for me.

Thats understandable. I would have too. Pretty sure I cheered against BYU prior to that for the same reason. Was kind of a whirlwind tho so its tough to remember the exact circumstance.

As far as KState in that game, would have been tough for anyone in their defense. That was a crowd of sickos and diehards if I’ve ever been a part of one. Empty shooters everywhere and the staff and security was too busy trying to stay warm to care. It was literally cold enough that just survival for that amount of time outside was an actual concern for some regardless of how warm you dressed lol.

It gets cold other places no doubt. But just like everything else about Iowa, it’s an ‘ugly’ cold. It’s like aggressively hostile and soul-sucking when it gets like that. They fumbled the pitch on the opening play and I kind of knew KSU wasn’t going to have a good day.
