Ya it probably was, I’d agree if im splitting hairs. Call on the field matters in those tho, id say. Was close close.
One of my controversial opinions is that if it can’t be overturned in under a minute you should just play with the call on the field.
I have seen mini packages from many schools. Nearby UH, TCU, BU. Rez also added ISU. I have not checked all schools.
I have also seen mini packages from pro sports as well. Not a new concept. Generally used when season ticket sales are not sold out as incentive to get people in for some games when they may not want to commit for a full season. Various reasons are time to attend all, price, or testing the waters so to speak.
@RezClone Can’t say TCU is “notorious” for it. Mini plans are not a TCU creation even in college football. Only time there was ever any issue is when the Tech game was included in the mini plan and there were not much in the way of single game tickets made available for the public. Apparently they got their little feelings hurt because they are stuck in the SWC days and assumes no one buys TCU tickets. Not sure if true, but I think I read somewhere that they did not even sell out their Tech allotment to TCU that year. Could have been a rumor as they do generally travel well in Texas and do show up at ACS (though not even close to the 50%+ they claim).
I also expect Tech will claim to have over 50% of the stadium when they are in Houston as they will claim all red shirts as Tech fans.
Coldest game I’ve been to was single digits in Shreveport, Louisiana against the Ragin Cajuns on 12/23/2022…
The Cajuns were so drunk by the end of it a group of them had their shirts off in the endzone.
Is there a written summary somewhere? What is the big picture and why unite with Tech?
I do not have time to sit for 10-40 minutes for videos that I can read a script in 2 minutes.
I understand.
TCU moved Heaven and earth to keep the throng of Tech fans in DFW out of ACS. Has not seemed to work that well so far.
I’ve seen the Jazz do it. But I thought it’s because nobody can go to all 41
Was curious how former UH player and legacy Mikal Harrison-Pilot was doing at Texas Tech. I was excited when he committed to UH and disappointed when he transferred. He was recruited as a WR/DB. I know he was working through some injuries while at UH. Pilot is currently running 4th team at Free Safety at TT. He has two seniors and one RS freshman ahead of him.
Best of luck to him.
Like I said, Tech fans and their hurt feewings.
Not sure what moving heaven and earth means. They limited single game tickets to season ticket holders and mini plans. Not exactly earth shattering or moving heaven and earth.
Also not sure about “has not seemed to work that well so far” TCU is doing fine in ticket sales.
I did check though about that mighty Tech fan base. Not a single one of the top 10 attendance games at TCU includes Tech.
Top attended game was Colorado - FBS debut of Prime so that makes sense. After that the schools include SMU, Texas, Utah, OU, Oklahoma St, even UCF. Not one of the top 10 was Tech. So why would TCU be so crazy mad that they need to move heaven and earth to keep out Tech fans. They have never been a top 10 crowd in the first place.
Sad sad Tech fans…

That is a good reason for them to have mini plans. A long time ago when I actually watched a little pro sports, I had Rockets tickets but split them with some friends for different games.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with how TCU operates, here you go.To be clear, schools do this when they don’t want opponents to take over their stadiums:
TCU AD Jeremiah Donati says to expect no single game tickets for Tech @ TCU basketball

Background: TCU is also refusing to sell single game tickets for the Tech @ TCU football game this season. The only way to buy tickets is to purchase the “Keep it Purple” mini-plan, which requires tickets to three separate games to be purchased. No other home game on TCU’s schedule is restricted this way. You can group buy 20+ tickets for OU and K-State for $25 a piece, but no Tech tickets. Now why is that?
Yea 2022 link. I have not paid that close attention to single game tickets, do you have links for 2024 keep it purple plan or years prior to that one to keep Tech out?
TCU averaged over 46,500 that season in a 45,000 seat stadium.
Not sure how many tickets would have been available for Tech fans to overrun the stadium. How many more do you think Tech would have bought? 10,000 20,000 more?
Obviously, TCU failed on their ticket sales plan that year.
My point was to disabuse readers of the notion that TCU has not taken steps to keep Tech fans from flooding ACS. That’s all I got.
Saying TCU will deny entry and cancel tickets to other fans seems bush league.
I didn’t go to the basketball game last season and the resale tickets I was looking at weren’t sold and I saw they were empty in the game.
That policy is gone? It got lots of publicity the year it came out.
I guess the thought is Texas Tech fans will buy up the unsold tickets to the Texas Tech vs TCU game, TCU knows that, so to maximize revenue, TCU is forcing Texas Tech fans to purchase multiple games if they want to attend the TCU game. Not a novel idea. Didn’t UH do something similar in 2023 when UH had its only home game against Texas? Can’t fault TCU for trying to maximize revenue.
I’m guessing there will be a lot of cheap non-Texas Tech tickets on the resell market for the other two games in the mini-season ticket package.
Who is saying that? I never saw anything about anyone being denied entry or their tickets canceled because of their shirt color/fandom. Only limited some ticket sales to TCU season ticket holders and mini plans in some cases.
If you were looking for a crowd at an 8-6 TCU basketball game, your looking in the wrong place. TCU is not a basketball school. Most all the games were half empty. Looks like you did not buy the tickets either. Could have rooted for your Cougs.
