I noticed the possibility of having a top 3 like this on another thread… Getting them into a playoff controlled by the SEC and B1G is a different matter.
First things, first, though. While the schedule allows for the possibility of a solid top 3 like that, I just don’t expect it to play out that way. Someone always loses a game they should win. Like ASU choking to Mississippi State… The chances of the “top 3” scenario playing out are remarkably small. And unfortunately, the Big 12 has zero margin for error.
And consider this.
Has the ACC ever gotten a team into the 2nd round of a 12 team playoff?

What two ACC teams are getting in this year? Last year it took a huge upset in the CCG for a second ACC team to get in. The Big 12 could do the same this year if, say, Tech chokes the title away.
It is because it is Miami and Florida State. You think if PITT and BC were the 2 undefeated teams they would be ranked ahead of us? Dont worry about it. Crying about it after 3 games is a waste of time. Long season, we’ll see what happens. Its happened once. You make it sound like its happened 10 years in a row. Big 12 is top to bottom a superior conference to ACC.

Watched it as it happened. That play was amazing.
I shocked that he didnt attempt it again on the game winning FG. Even if you assume theyd be “ready for it” the odds of getting through the middle (for him) are much greater than lining up outside.
Im not sure if Will did that on his own, or on the instruction of the coaches. Regardless, it wasnt smart.
