BIG 12 Options

Agree, but we haven’t seen anything close to what UT in SEC NIL advertising and recruiting looks like.

There was an article by an Iowa state guy that said cinci and ucf.

A Kansas guy said Memphis and cinci.

Baylor article that was written by a guy that was vehemently against UH on the last round saying Baylor should be against UH joining so they would not prop up UH mentioned us as a possibility this time.

A Kansas state based article mentioned byu as a wish, Boise and cinci as shoe ins.

Most folks are not talking about us up north. 2016 was a long time ago, and football drives the boat.

I would not be surprise if the big 12 takes Cinncy and Memphis only. That would suck.

Everyone says Boise, but in reality Boise will never be in a big conference. Simply put Boise literally offers nothing other than some good football from 10 years ago.

AAC doesn’t have the $$$ B12 does. B12 contract for next 4 years is much much better plus it retains OU/Austin tv rights

I would love it. I hope the Big 12 goes all out and adds 8. Maybe SDSU instead of Nevada? As much as I hate Memphis, they should get a spot some way also. I guess add them if Kansas goes to the Big 10.

After that, AAC money, if that. There’s a reason both ESPN & Fox didn’t want to discuss extending the Big 12 contract

Boise was mentioned for geographical reasons for the Kansas schools in that article.

The bad part about all this is that Your northern schools and West Virginia are not writing about us. Newspaper bloggers don’t control the process but it is a bad look. All the while the Texas and Oklahoma schools are just talking about how to legally stop this or where they are going to.

Right. They already do great in Houston now. It would be significantly better in the SEC with NIL.

Agree, the B12 is DOA without TU and OU.

We need to get Governor Abbott sending out tweets again

For those interested… Cougar King has returned to the message boards. Get ready for the shite show.

After that, if we are still in the AAC or B12 it won’t matter because we will compete at a Rice level, not what we are trying to do curently.

Not all heroes wear capes.

If the B12 breaks up, the AAC will pick up TT, Kansas, OSU, TCU and WV to become a 16 school conference.

Big12 becomes C-USA 3.0.

Anyone remember the Big East??

I don’t see that happening. B12 has the better contract for the next few years + GOR TV dollars coming in from Austin/OU. B12 has more leverage even if their contract will suck the next go round compared to current

Yeah they’d have too much money plus there’s no assurance of another safe landing ground for any of the schools left in the Big 12. It could still be a good conference—excellent in basketball and probably about as good as the PAC 12 or ACC sans Clemson in football. The conference would take a hit with the new TV contract, but it would probably be somewhere around 10-15 million per school, not great, but if a school did well at the gate, 15 million per year wouldn’t be terrible. It would certainly be more than the AAC’s 6 million per.

Yeah it was a definite step up from the conference we left.

The above would not get BiG, SEC or even PAC and ACC football money, but it would be a player with enough big names to warrant someone like FOX or CBS to step in to guarantee FB product.

Would be a step up from AAC.

I would agree about UNLV, but also include Memphis as the next in if any other team is omitted, just re-shuffle the regions a bit. .
