Big 12 / Pac 12 / B10 Expansion Thread (Part 1)

The ones the increase the pie Not the answer you’re probably looking for, it’s the true one

This would be a freaking AWESOME conference TBH. Look at all those SWC matchups!!!

Yeah, Pitt is basically UH with a better academic pedigree (mainly because of its age and the fact that it has had a top notch medical system for decades).

Pitt is what UH, Temple and Cincinnati strive to become, academically.

I will say, I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Pitt. They offered me a spot in their law school and even gave me a scholarship. I turned it down for Iowa, mainly because I wanted a different experience than what I had at UH, more of a college town atmosphere. Pitt does not have that.

One of my good buddies is a Pitt med school grad, so he always hears it from me about the 2015 Armed Forces Bowl

He also hears it from me with regard to Iowa, as we have beaten them repeatedly the last 13 years, so much so that Pitt canceled the home and home series.

Jonas Salk eradicated polio while at Pitt.

Fwiw

I would say that related to Football, Houston differs from Pitt in the fact that the Coogs have fan support and Pitt does not.

San Diego St. adds more to an expanded Big 12 than does Utah.

Wow, @WVUFAN, is this how you feel? I would love to see this as a conference rivalry game where everything is on the line.

Pitt vs West Virginia…really?

I know they are close to each other but those two are two bottom half P5s…lol

I bet as many care nationally about that game as care about The Bayou Bucket (UH vs Rice)…neither are Ohio State/Michigan or USC/ND

I would take that bet and spot you a few fans on top.

Absolutely Az St over Wash St every day and twice on Sunday.

Only member of a G5 conference I would consider to add any potential value would be SDSU. Not even Memphis, but I can understand from an east coast perspective the Memphis name is more recognizable.

Memphis - just say NO.

No to the mudcats.

Must be why ESPN Gameday is doing their show from there on Thursday night. The stadium has sold out and it will be a ratings winner.

Small world. After I determined that there was no way I could afford to pay for the private laws schools that accepted me, my final two public schools from which to choose were Pitt and UH.

Obviously, I chose UH. But, like you, I’ve always kept an eye on Pitt since those days (early 90’s).

Per Conzano some Pac-12 ADs do have grabbing Big 12 members on their mind, though more attention given to MWC adds (and why they might add value).

Explores equal/unequal revenue scenarios with a $32.4m baseline (numbers from Thompson)

Well - he is persistent, isn’t he?
