There is no damn way that Stanford and Cal would get left out…if the B1G doesnt take them, the Big 12 will. That is a fact.
What’s so great about Cal?
Only problem with them they might think their slumming if they have to merge with the B12. Their are kind of snooty, and don’t care for Texas politics. I think that’s why USC wanted out, schools didn’t want to expand.
I dont see two of the most liberal Universities in the country begging a Texas centric conference for membership.
Our presidents including Khator would love to have Cal associated with our school(s).
Agree. The presidents drive this ship and RK would welcome Cal and Stanford as well she should.
I don’t agree. As someone else posted, they may simply deemphasize football.
I don’t think the B12 schools are really dying to invite Cal. I think Stanford is a much bigger prize because they can field high quality football every so often. Everyone prizes academics but not at the expense of weakening your football brand…which drives TV.
AzDesertSwarm just said that The Wildcats’ best option is to join our Big 12.
I hope not.
I DIG IT!!!
How does this change the calculus if the remaining PAC teams are staying put?
Arizona’s fans think they are going to the Big 10 lol
It only says we stay in the Big 12, given that a) the #5 conference in football and basketball just got worse, b) the PAC now looks less stable than the Big 12, and c) without the LA market, the next PAC media deal is likely to be pretty sucky.
It means the PAC is going to be pretty aggressive. The loss of their moneymaker in the LA market is going to hurt real bad.
They may try, but what P5 school will want to join them, given what I posted above?
Arizona state fans think they’re too good for the new big 12 + Utah, AZ, and Colorado.
So there’s that… lol
