Big Ten and Notre Dame want to get into state of Texas in realignment, covet TAMU

Doesn’t matter

Nebraska is a historical blue blood, flagship, land grant, and was a dominant team before joining the Big Ten. At the time of their invite, they were AAU.

FSU is not a historical blue blood. Not a flagship. Not a land grant. And frankly, hasn’t been dominant in some time before last year.

Minnesota checks all the boxes except for being a blue blood or having any historical success. Even with AAU, they wouldn’t be a Big Ten school had they not been invited some odd years ago.

It matters when the Argument he brought up is that The three schools mentioned are not members of the club. The university of Texas could not be a member, but they would be allowed in so continually bringing up AAU as a prerequisite when it’s already proven to be false deflects the entire conversation.

AAU as a requirement has NOT been proven false.

To this day, no school has ever joined the B1G without being AAU.

Now that ND is AAU, don’t bet on any exception being made.

and no school had EVER been invited to the B1G that wasn’t contiguous to their footprint…until they invited schools from California.

If the B1G absolutely wants in Texas they will add Houston as they are very similar to the UCLA and are the best option out of TT, TCU & UH

Remember UCLA averaged about 41.5k, IN FOOTBALL, the year they were invited!

Before that they add similar type schools in Maryland (currently averages around 40k with 32k the year before) and Rutgers (currently averages around 50k).

Not happening Bro.

UH ain’t that much like UCLA.

For that to be true, we’d have to be a basketball blue blood (we are not), have the second most PAC football titles, be AAU, and be a destination school.

That makes UH 0 for 4.

Listen Bro.

Get off that fantasy.

If the B1G can’t get aTm or UT, then they will NOT be coming to Texas.

dude…you are higher on UCLA than anyone I know.

They were a THROW IN, per USC’s request to capture the Los Angeles market…what part of that do you not understand?

They averaged 41.5k the year they got invited. That’s 45% of the capacity of their home stadium.

45%!

And they also had the second most PAC football titles behind only USC.

If their football history had been more like Kansas, then like Kansas, they wouldn’t have gotten a B1G invite.

UCLA got the bid because USC wasnt coming without them…and BIG wanted USC…

UCLA like all UC schools has an 18% cap on non resident students. That 18% includes international students.

There are 6 SEC publics with 40%+ out of state enrollment. 4 Big Ten. 3 Big 12 (surprised Iowa State is one of the 3)
