Iowa state dropped out because they felt AAU criteria had changed and the two were no longer in sync. Nebraska got kicked out, Syracuse quit before they got kicked out.
If you read Iowa State’s comments, that could bode well for UH. They felt the emphasis was more oriented towards colleges and universities that have medical schools and medical research.
Regardless of the other cases, it will be a nice asset to have when/if other conferences come calling. Good academics, good sports teams, and good media market is the trifecta.
