I’ll wait for the data to come out but for now it’s Schrödinger’s Court. It’s anyone’s guess! lol

This is what I wanted to see. Thanks

I’m with you, hopefully that kind of court will be slip sliding away in the near future or they develop a grip coating for it. Shoe companies you have a challenge.

Glad the commissioner made the right choice. The LED court was like playing on a Slip & Slide.

Not really. Companies that like to make a lot of money do it all the time.

Welcome aboard sailor!

Now… if only they’d listen about the refs…

Gotta say, anyone could see this from a mile away. My concerns were voiced the second I saw this thing

Its for chicks and kids. Great marketing gimmick. But I have to say the crowd sounds like a year end meeting for Walmart.

I am in the sports flooring business and have been for 18 years. I heard about this floor about year ago from one of my clients. It is VERY expensive. From what I heard it costs well over a million bucks. Everything in the world of sports floors are revaluated in 3 areas…ball bounce, coefficient of friction and shock absorption. CofF in layman’s terms is slip and grip. It was obvious that this floor was too slick. My client told me this technology was the greatest thing since sliced bread. He saw it in Europe. I think it is hysterical that the floor did not perform up to the hype. Yormack was smart to dump it before someone got hurt.

The legal minds must have stepped in and explained to Yormark that one injury to a player could mean a million dollar lawsuit. Multiple player injuries could mean hundreds of millions of dollars. You have video evidence of the slipping from all the games. This was about mitigating a legal risk.

Didn’t like all the slipping and sliding. And have never seen so many players not knowing where the out-of bounds lines were.

Question is will they try to bring it back next year with a better finish to prevent the slipping and sliding and more clearly defined boundary markers?

As a fan the floor was very entertaining and may at some point become the floor of the future. But, they have a lot of improvements they need to make going forward to insure it is safe for the players.

I think it is a great idea but they will have to come up with some type of clear exterior coating that will give the floor proper grip. I could see this becoming a big thing in the future in college and the NBA if all the technical challenges are worked out. Clearly seems like the technology isn’t quite there yet

LED floors have been around since 2014. It is great for advertising but not so much for playing. This is according to the players. They are no longer needed now since you have advanced graphics that are visible on telecasts. The nba has had many games with them.
