Speaking of Stirtz, saw this the other day

Thats a pretty good metric especially when the opponent is bad, like you eluded to.
I dont think its a great fit. With a different roster? Yeah, but I think having Milan and Stirtz on the floor at the same time would create issues for us, both offensively and defensively. Then again, if Stirtz can keep his head in the game hed be no worse than Jones.
He’s a very good player, and Id love to have him, but think he will want to start. I think we need to get more athletic on the perimeter. With Milan “locked in” to a starting role, Im not sure it would work.
Just a look at the all the top teams and all the notable players returning (heavy minutes player)… and then any top 50-ish recruits .too see how much portal work each top team needs
*obviously not accounting for deep bench who will take big jumps

a counter to that is that you basically play jones starter minutes anyway, and together a ton with milan
and while i dont belive steals is a great definer on defense he is one of the nations leaders in steals…
and your team this year was really good… you could easily have stirtz play the jones role, get a more defensive guy to play the keshon role, give the the exact same minutes as the counterr parts, you just have stirtz start… the exact same minutes but have jones replacement start infront of keshons replacement… im not sure why it wouldnt work
I don’t really like to get into talking next year’s team at this point, but it will be Sampson’s toughest “reload” job in quite a while.
Replacing at least 4 rotation guys, a big chunk of the scoring about half of the rebounds, and the high level experience is going to be a job. If any of the other three “maybes” end up leaving…oof.
I know he’s gonna have some nice pieces coming in to go with the bench guys who should be ready to contribute, but we haven’t seen the level of frontcourt transition that’s about to happen.
hopefully we can nail the transfer portal or else that hangover year gonna be brutal if we can’t make it back to the third weekend lol
And yet could be the most experienced 1-4 we have had starting and some multi years guys on the bench mixed with the incoming talent.
There’s no way we have more experience starting next year than we did at the beginning of this year.
We had Roberts (5 yrs), Francis (3 yrs), LJ (4 yrs), Sharp (2 yrs) and Uzan (2 yrs). All of those guys started the previous year.
If nobody leaves, we’ll have Sharp (3 yrs), Uzan (3 yrs), Tugler (2 yrs), Arceneaux (2/3 yrs) and probably someone who hasn’t played meaningful minutes.
I’m not that worried about incoming scoring, but defense and rebounding…
Anyway, I’m going to enjoy the rest of this year. ![]()
I like Stirtz. Everybody likes Stirtz.
Euros are difficult to evaluate, but id imagine playing pro ball at a high level against grown men helps the curve a bit.
I think you should add Pleta to that list of likely spots you need not worry about seeking a transfer. He’s gonna play right away. Ill hold off on the others besides Batemon tho in fairness to your point. It’s good info.
And yup Krivas would likely be keeping Veesaar out of the rotation had he not gotten hurt. People forget about Krivas.
Just got home from work, that Cincy K-State game…

Jerome Tang vs Wes Miller.
And we get to run them both back next year.
Lucky Us!
9.9 million is too much for Cincy right now…
pleta has good stats but euro players ae so hard to predict and have high flop rates… honestly few success stories outside of those who came in as lottery picks
look at byu they brought in a 23 yr Mihailo Boskovic,… he has been playing with “grown men” is a grown man…byu actually had trouble clearing him, they only cleared him on the assumption that he wouldnt start as a freshmen but as a junior… was MVP of 2022 FIBA U20 European Championship… he’s basically done nothing for byu
im not saying he can’t be great but its more “show me”
Ya i know, that’s fine. I appreciate the compiled look aheads you’ve been putting together.
I said 1-4 so obviously not counting Roberts.
We would return Milos, Sharp and Jojo(who is the starter)
TA would slide in for LJ.
Point is, it’s a pretty veteran group of starters if they return with the possibility of one freshman with them.
Utah beat writer weighs in on KC, and is getting roasted in the replies.

If it ever does get moved hopefully it isn’t Vegas. Vegas is an overpriced hellscape now.
