I will agree it’s not a win for the Big12 overall, and it’s 100% jarring at first.
But i have to say, over time its improved for me personally in the sense that at least my eyes have become more or less indifferent or neutral to it.
Again, definitely not what the conference was going for, so it’s an L. Anyone else feel that way or is it just me?

I think this is a perfect summation.
Over time, when watching the games, it becomes “background noise”. But the relevant question is, why do something that is, at best, initially negatively controversial? I think Yormark made it worse when he countered the overwhelmingly negative feedback, excusing his culpability, and claiming it was “for the athletes”. How is a floor revamp for the “athletes”.
Personally, I think changing the floor has minimal impact in a “best case scenario”. Even if it looks great, who really cares? But when it looks like this…well…that’s a pretty egregious miss for the commissioner.
Not a positive relection on Yormark, that’s for sure.

I will strongly disagree with this.
The Big 12 needs all the positive press it can get. Negative press like this only reinforces negative perceptions and provides easy cannon fodder for your adversaries (Big 10 and SEC).
Classic case of shooting yourself in the foot by Yormark.
